Unfortunately, due to illness, I’ve had to cancel a table for 8 people tomorrow evening (Saturday 13th) at @VolpeNeraDublin. If you’re quick you might be able to nab some seats. An opportunity to try some great food at one of South Dublin’s best restaurants.

@jethroGG @StephenFerris6 What a weird take on the game. The Boks were completely dominant in the scrum and Ireland had no answer to it. We were getting steamrolled. But where's the cynicism & disruption? Do you think we wanted to go down to 12 players?
English

@StephenFerris6 Unfortunately when one team decides to be cynical and disruptive then this is the result. Ireland have degenerated into the Argentina of old. Most defensive scrums, mauls and rucks are a plethora of illegal attempts to disrupt. Carley just had the balls to call them on it.

Amai by Viktor was a revelation. Fantastic food, blending Brazilian influences with Irish produce. Another great addition to the Dublin dining scene. instagram.com/p/DPWWWhSDDyX/…

After a 5-year gap, I returned to @LiathRestaurant, now the proud holder of 2 Michelin stars. Everything I knew about the restaurant has changed. They’ve evolved and found another gear. An experience not to be missed. Full review at instagram.com/p/DNtgEwFWhOq/…

Had a fantastic meal at Comet restaurant off Dawson St yesterday. This is some of the finest cooking in Dublin. One dish in particular, Wagyu featherblade skewer & fermented cabbage, was insanely good. My best dish of 2025. Full review at instagram.com/p/DL8TdTMs-WG/…

Laurel restaurant in Blackrock was a surprise find. High-class cooking across starters and mains. Desserts less impressive, but overall a classy place to dine. Full review at instagram.com/p/DJ7gZLhsZ8E/…

Had a superb meal at @TheMuddlersClub in Belfast. Lovely venue with some top class cooking. It’s a tasting menu at £100 with an excellent wine pairing at £70. Full review on Insta instagram.com/p/DJy6CakMDNe/…

@KarlBrophy Did you know the Saints were going to beat us and couldn’t bear to stay in the country for it?
English

@adammoursy You’re absolutely correct Adam. And service is suffering too as they reduce staff numbers.
English

@pasmyth I've really noticed it a lot when eating out in Dublin over the last 12 months. Portions are getting smaller, quality is going down & price is going up
Comparing relatively comparable restaurants, the gap between Dublin and NY/London is getting smaller when it comes to price imo

@prodnose Take your pick
“Hey where did we go”
or
“It's not time to make a change”

China Tang is the new high-end Chinese restaurant in Monkstown. First impressions are that the food is a match for the expensive fit-out, but some service issues need to be fixed. Overall, a great addition to the area. Full review instagram.com/p/DGolKjPMMcx/…

@LeSarthe @bankofireland @RevolutApp @talktoBOI I engaged with them on this and got standard corporate platitudes. They don’t get it. Dinosaurs 😡
English

@pasmyth @bankofireland It gets better. They wanted me to print, sign and drop a form to order a bank card on a 12 year old business account. It was quicker and easier to open a @RevolutApp business account. Offered to have a call with @talktoBOI to discuss process. Ignored.
English

Why are we so behind the curve here in Ireland. 1) Went into @bankofireland for coins. Can't use my phone to pay. They wanted my card! 2) Why can't I get cash at an ATM without a card? 3) Left my bus pass behind. Can't use my phone to tap instead. 4) No contactless on DART etc.
