@NickRamone I can appreciate that. Personally I find the inspired stuff as a bonus as the stats are a really fun mechanic that I wish were in more games. the memory loss trope is a bit cliche but it works for meeting the audience where they're at!

@patdaproducer Maybe ripoff is too much, I give you that. I knew it had lots of similarities but some things (like the stats that are characters that speak to you, memory loss of the main character etc.) made me think "oh, this is EXACTLY like Disco".
I'm enjoying it thus far, no shame in that.

I took the family to see Project Hail Mary last weekend. For 4 of us, it was like $90 all in. That's for like 2 hours of entertainment....
I've got close to 200 hours now out of Marathon and I haven't even got to vault 7 yet, or VIPd every faction, or even come remotely close to every upgrade. That's alot for my $60.
Even if it dies after season 1, I'll have gotten more out of this game than most others titles that have lasted a decade.
It's a ton of fun and it'll move the genre forward even in the unlikely event it gets the plug pulled.

In some cases like the UK and Australia, they don’t even have the options to estimate your age. They MUST get the IDs.
You need to pay attention to this. There is a global concerted effort to force mandatory ID verification and deanonymize the Internet. This is all packaged under the guise of child safety or national security for moral cover, but what it really is is a complete control over all narrative and the ability to censor, deplatform, silence, and even legally or physically harm people who speak out against the powers that be.
It’s important to note that this is a non-partisan issue. This affects everyone, regardless of political affiliation. Whether you want to tell edgy jokes online or whether you want to protest ICE, these laws put you in danger. This is and must remain a UNITING issue for all people.
You must make your voices heard and reject the big surveillance narrative and the panopticon-ization of society. Every time a law tries to pass, you must vote against. Every time a politician tries to run on this frankly evil rhetoric, you must vocalize your objection.
You must chimp out about this. If the chimp is strong enough, it slows it down.
Privacy is your most important asset, especially in the age of AI and surveillance. It’s your right to speak freely, whether you want to call Trump a moron or whether you want to say secure the border. It’s important that you are protected and free to do so.
Reject mandated ID verification. Use other platforms if forced, keep resisting as long as possible.

The fact they panicked into a Batman-SuperMan movie and Justice League movie because of what Marvel was doing was always a mistake. Marvel was cashing out but DC had control over all their characters including 3 of big 4. If they just took their time by the time they got around to the big crossovers it would have hit so much better because they had the casting down (sans the Flash)

The White House is framing whole milk in schools as a nutrition win. It isn't.
Whole milk and low-fat milk have the same protein, calcium, vitamin D, and 13 essential nutrients. The only difference is about 50 extra calories and 5 grams of saturated fat per cup. There's some observational data suggesting kids who drink whole milk weigh less, but it's all high risk of bias, and no randomized trials have shown whole milk is actually better for them.
What would actually improve school nutrition: giving kids more than 10 minutes to eat. Scheduling recess before lunch. Funding kitchens to cook real food instead of reheating processed products. Paying cafeteria workers competitive wages so schools can actually retain staff. Upgrading equipment that's decades old. Offering more menu choices, including culturally appropriate foods. Pre-slicing fruit so kids will actually eat it.
Those cost money. Swapping milk cartons costs nothing and gets you a headline and whatever the hell that AI milk video was.
