We just had our 4th kid. Recently elected to city council and my business demanded everything I had. I was exhausted before 12pm every day. Carnivore diet, no carbs, high protein: that was the only thing that flipped it. It’s pure energy w/ no crash! Nobody prepares you for your 40s. You’re building at your peak while running on empty. It’s the hardest and most meaningful season of a man’s life.

A friend of mine is moving his $10mm service business to a "sub contract model" in CA (I think its a bad move and the state is going to nail him) He "had" nice new work trucks that his employees DESTROYED Now all his "sub contractors" are buying brand new F350 Lariats and having them detail every week. All that to say - employees will trash your equipment

A few things regarding Kansas City's youngest and most important developer of the next 30 years: First, the work Zach is doing to revitalize dead buildings / square footage is admirable. Next, the "daddy's money" narrative is stupid. The guy shakes more hands and works harder to raise capital than just about anyone I've ever met. Third, his ability to build and manage teams with folks with much more experience / subject matter experts for each component of his projects is one of his many superpowers. Finally, the economics / splits Zach has offered his investors (of which I am one) matches the investment risk. I am long Zach, long Molzer Development, and long Kansas City as long as Zach is investing / developing there.
