ABC News has now taken all FiveThirtyEight articles completely offline. They now redirect to abcnews dot com/politics. A needless erasure of thousands of pages of knowledge.

Data centers are the leading cause of a 76% increase in the cost of electricity for America's largest power grid over just the first 3 months of this year, according to Bloomberg. The 13-state grid managed by PJM serves 67 million people, and costs have spiked this year. This time last year the cost of electricity on this grid was $77.78 per megawatt-hour. Now that cost has almost doubled to $136.53 per megawatt-hour. Bloomberg attributes that skyrocketing cost to the "booming demand from artificial intelligence data centers, which require vast amounts of energy and are putting a significant burden on America’s aging power grids." NEW: A federal bill would ban private equity firms from investing in youth sports, specifically targeting "vulture practices" like consolidation, bundling and stay-to-play. In announcing the bill, lawmakers repeatedly called out Black Bear Sports Group. usatoday.com/story/news/pol…

O'Leary made the same promises in Alberta that he's making in Utah. This project launched with the same pitch - jobs, growth, minimal impact. Here's the reality two years in: construction pushed back to 2028, an agriculture region already in drought now fighting for its water supply, and emissions projections so severe researchers say it could set Alberta's environmental gains back 20 years. Now he wants to do the same thing here, next to a Great Salt Lake already 6.1 feet below its minimum healthy level. 3,000+ Utahns already said no. It's time our leaders listened.

When even the WSJ admits it. This also isn't going to employ people from local towns. Jobs at AI datacenters are highly specialized. You're not walking in off the street. Stargate (below) employs 1 person for every 2,865 sq ft. A standard office bldg? 1 person per 100-200 sq ft.

Goes w/o saying that if Joe Biden ever showed this level of dismissiveness toward the financial suffering of Americans, the entire media industrial complex would have collapsed on itself like a dying star in outrage but it's Trump, so this won't even be remembered by the weekend.

He gets a ballroom. An Arch. A new reflecting pool. 10 billion directly into his pocket from taxpayers. Billions from special interests seeking favors and pardons. What has America gotten? Tariffs, a new war, higher gas prices, inflation. Truly a golden age.
