@SkyleDye @MichaelARothman Yes, I do. Slavery has been decried as barbaric for thousands of years, and many have championed it. He was one that championed it, and I also have morals and give no quarter to this or any other loyal confederate. They were all traitors to America and human morality.

On August 1, 1960, President Dwight D. Eisenhower received a letter from a frustrated citizen named Leon Scott. Mr. Scott asked Eisenhower why he had a picture of Robert E. Lee in his office. This was Eisenhower's response to Mr. Scott: "Dear Dr. Scott, Respecting your August 1 inquiry calling attention to my often expressed admiration for General Robert E. Lee, I would say, first, that we need to understand that at the time of the War between the States, the issue of secession had remained unresolved for more than 70 years. Men of probity, character, public standing, and unquestioned loyalty, both North and South, had disagreed over this issue as a matter of principle from the day our Constitution was adopted. General Robert E. Lee was, in my estimation, one of the supremely gifted men produced by our Nation. He believed unswervingly in the Constitutional validity of his cause which, until 1865, was still an arguable question in America; he was a poised and inspiring leader, true to the high trust reposed in him by millions of his fellow citizens; he was thoughtful yet demanding of his officers and men, forbearing with captured enemies but ingenious, unrelenting, and personally courageous in battle, and never disheartened by a reverse or obstacle. Through all his many trials, he remained selfless almost to a fault and unfailing in his faith in God. Taken altogether, he was noble as a leader and as a man, and unsullied as read the pages of our history. From deep conviction, I simply say this: a nation of men of Lee's calibre would be unconquerable in spirit and soul. Indeed, to the degree that present-day American youth will strive to emulate his rare qualities, including his devotion to this land as revealed in his painstaking efforts to help heal the Nation's wounds once the bitter struggle was over, we, in our own time of danger in a divided world, will be strengthened and our love of freedom sustained. Such are the reasons that I proudly display the picture of this great American on my office wall. Sincerely, Dwight D. Eisenhower"

@theobjectivist Just for clarification, do you consider Mamdani's gesture to be the Nazi salute? If yes then Musk's gesture was also Nazi salute right?

Same move. Same hand on the heart, same wave to the crowd. Musk did it and gets called a Nazi to this day. Mamdani does it and those same people have not said a word. Well, not exactly. Once the side by side clips went viral, some of them did speak up. Not to apologize to Musk. To defend Mamdani. Suddenly the gesture is not the gesture. Suddenly we need to talk about arm speed. Whether the fingers wiggled at the end. Whether he was smiling. Whether his grandparents were in the right party. A year ago none of that mattered. The hand went up, the verdict came down. Now we get a forensic seminar on millimeters and microseconds to prove Mamdani's arm moved slower. Mamdani's own press office said "in no way was this a Nazi salute." Funny. Musk said the same thing. His did not count. Mamdani's did, instantly. That tells you everything. The "Nazi salute" thing was never about the gesture. If it were, they would be screaming right now. They are not. It was about Musk. They hate him because he is the richest man in the world and he was attacking their ideological piggy bank with DOGE, so they smeared him. Mamdani is on their team, so he gets a pass, plus a defense team running stopwatch analysis. Same hand, opposite verdict. A wave is a wave. The rule does not change based on who is waving. When it does, you are not watching principle. You are watching a hit job.

This is outrageous.. Not a single person on my flight is masked up while we’re in the middle of a double pandemic (Covid + Hantavirus). I politely informed the flight attendant that this is a super spreader event. She just shrugged and walked away. I've already filed a formal complaint with the FAA and CDC. This is reckless and cannot stand. Masks save lives, the science is settled on that.

🚨Report: Democrats are trying to create a plan that will overturn the Virginia Supreme Court ruling that overturned their map The plan would include lowering the mandatory retirement age for justices from 75 to 54 (or less). Therefore, that would remove every current justice on the court. Then the Democrat majority the state legislature would appoint 7 new justices and they would redraw the map to a 10D-1R map Via: The New York Times

Yes, I understand the point you made about companies that support Trump. However, Elon still remains the biggest threat to humanity, he uses money to buy power and has significantly more than anyone you mentioned. You'd look better if you sold the damn thing, I'm sure you know that. Buy a Gravity for your family, the only way we work ourselves out of this mess with Elon is by supporting the competition expessially with investment. You made an investment in Tesla. We know Tesla has better selfdrive (against Lucid that's it), and that's a convenience that I can live without like many others for the sake of fighting oligarchy.

IMPORTANT! I'm calling for the following boycott of all products and services related to these companies: Delta Air Lines — Donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund. X - Elon Musk owns it. Microsoft - Founder Bill Gates was friends with Epstein. Amazon — Listed among companies rolling back DEI efforts and also donated to Trump’s inaugural fund. Walmart — Pulled back on DEI programs and was listed among major companies retreating from diversity initiatives. Boeing — STOP FLYING! Donated to Trump’s inaugural fund, despite Trump’s agenda being deeply opposed by many liberals. Ford — Scaled back DEI policies and stopped participating in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, a major LGBTQ+ workplace-equality benchmark. General Motors — Donated to Trump’s 2025 inaugural fund, alongside Ford, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Boeing, Hyundai, Stellantis, Delta, and others. Target — Ended or scaled back several DEI initiatives, including changes around supplier diversity, after conservative pressure and Trump’s anti-DEI push. McDonald’s — Scaled back DEI initiatives and was named among major U.S. companies retreating from diversity programs. Meta — Confirmed it was scaling back DEI programs; also donated to Trump’s inaugural fund. Google / Alphabet — Listed by Reuters among major companies that dropped or considered altering DEI policies after Trump’s executive order; Alphabet also donated to Trump’s inaugural fund. Lowe’s — Named by AP among prominent companies pulling back on DEI initiatives. Hyundai — Its U.S. unit donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund. Stellantis — Donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund. AT&T — Said it would end DEI programs in connection with seeking FCC approval for a spectrum-license acquisition. T-Mobile — Also moved to terminate DEI efforts while seeking federal approval for telecom deals. Verizon — Secured approval for its Frontier acquisition after agreeing to dismantle its DEI program. Also please smash all your smartphones as they are made using child labor, burn most of your clothes and destroy your sneakers as they are mostly made in sweat shops. Whie you are at it please also stop breathing oxygen as it's shared with many of the CEOs of the companies liosted above. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

They arrested the President of the United States of America 4X, charged him 91X, indicted him 4X, spied on his campaign, sabotaged his first term, jailed his supporters, raided his private residence, censored him, gagged him, tried to bankrupt him, and attempted to remove him from state ballots. When all of that failed they tried to assassinate him not once but four times. And they go on national television to talk about how we need to vote for them to save democracy.

There seems to be some confusion between insults/ridicule and incitement of violence. Here's a little rhetorical quiz for those who are confused. Perhaps it will help. Trump posts that Rob Reiner was crazy and had TDS after Reiner's death. Who did that incite violence towards? Gavin Newsom claims that Trump is disappearing American citizens never to be seen again and that Black and Brown people are specifically being targeted and should be afraid. Newsom repeatedly claims that America will not have an election in 2028 and that Trump will use the National Guard to arrest people who try to vote. Who might that incite violence towards? Trump posts a warning to Iran that an entire civilization may die. Which person did that incite violence towards? Ted Lieu, without evidence, claims that Trump is guilty of raping and killing children. The entire Democrat party spends a year claiming without evidence that Trump is a pedophile. Who does that incite violence towards? Trump posts a meme of Adam Schiff with a long neck and calls him a watermelon head. Does that incite violence towards someone? Adam Schiff spends three years falsely accusing the President of being a traitor and working for Russia. He claims that the President is illegitimate and should not be in office. Does that incite violence towards anyone? What happens if someone believes Schiff's lies? Tim Walz claims that Trump is disappearing people, having American citizens grabbed and sent to torture dungeons, never to be seen again. He warns people that anybody could be next and urges people to fight. Who does that incite violence towards? Trump posts a meme with a clip of Obama as a gorilla. Who does that incite violence towards? Were people angry at Obama for being portrayed as a gorilla or were they angry at Trump for posting it? Biden spends five years calling Trump an existential threat to the world and says that democracy can never survive if Trump gets back in office. He gives multiple prime time speeches as President calling Trump and his supporters a threat to democracy. Does that incite violence towards someone or some group? Trump calls someone garbage. Biden says that Trump supporters are garbage almost immediately after an attempt on Trump's life. Do either of those incite violence? Chris Murphy says that we are at war (with MAGA and the right) and that people need to do whatever it takes to win the war. Who might that incite violence towards? Trump posts that he's glad that Robert Mueller died. Who does that incite violence towards? Do people want to kill Mueller's dead body after reading that? James Comey posts "8647." Might that incite violence towards someone? Trump posts a meme of Hakeem Jeffries in a sombrero. Who does that incite violence towards? Do the people who are angry about that meme want to hurt Jeffries? Hakeem Jeffries repeatedly says that the biggest threat America faces is MAGA Republicans. Who does that incite violence towards? Trump says "there are very fine people on both sides, but I'm not talking about the neo-nazis and white supremacists, they should be condemned totally." Who does that incite violence towards? The entire Democrat party and virtually the entire MSM spend years claiming that Trump said that nazis and white supremacists are very fine people. Who does that incite violence towards? Trump ridicules Rosie O'Donnell. Did that incite violence towards O'Donnell? A journalist reads on national TV from a manifesto of a deranged would be assassin who wrote that he was angry with pedophiles and then asks the same President who was the target of said assassin if the manifesto was about him? Who would that, if anyone, incite violence towards? Trump tells the journalist who just read the manifesto accusing him of being a pedophile that she should be ashamed of herself. Who does that incite violence towards? AOC says that the country has become nazi Germany, compares Trump to Hitler, and claims that Trump is putting people in concentration camps. Who would that incite violence towards? I could go on and on. Maybe these questions will clear things up a bit for those who do not understand the difference between insults and incitement of violence.

Although we don’t yet have the details about the motives behind last night's shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner, it’s incumbent upon all us to reject the idea that violence has any place in our democracy. It’s also a sobering reminder of the courage and sacrifice that U.S. Secret Service Agents show every day. I’m grateful to them – and thankful that the agent who was shot is going to be okay.

The heckler's veto is anti-free speech. Free speech is about expressing ideas, not silencing by disruption. The heckler’s veto replaces debate with noise.
YitzyFrankel@YitZionist

Truly abhorrent and unimaginable behavior today at the @FedSocUCLA event that hosted a @DHSgov lawyer. Leftist students repeatedly disrupted the event, yelled profanities, shouted, made their phones ping incessantly, and eventually stormed out to a rally that violated all time, place, and manner restrictions. These students can’t handle @FedSoc event about the law, but will remain students at @UCLA_Law and eventually be admitted to the Bar. It is a damning indictment on higher education that students behave so despicably.

Davide, you have been prematurely right and lack the proper academic respectability. Academia will never give you credit. I've had the same problem. How many people have used the arguments about a cognitive elite from TBC without citing the book? Or there's Robert Putman's Our Kids, with several graphs that were virtually identical to ones in Coming Apart and a substantial overlap in themes, and yet Coming Apart wasn't even in his bibliography, let alone cited. But thanks for giving me an excuse to kvetch.
