My boss's boss is like 42, never married, no kids. Earns $275-300K per year. Goes on a minimum of two international vacations a year w/ his girlfriend. 10+ days, all out. Eats the best food, stays in top notch accomodations. Excursions, tours, nicest beaches, etc. Great guy, I'm happy for him. But what I've realized is that without kids, you end up chasing a lifestyle that has to continually be topped in order for you to be satisfied and find happiness. What he and others like him don't understand is that when you have children, seeing THEM experience life's most basic things and watching their eyes light up at all the "firsts", brings greater pleasure and joy than any vacation or travel experience ever could. Seeing THEM try blueberries for the first time is greater than dining at the best 5 star restaurant in Europe. Seeing THEM learn how to walk is greater than walking the Great Wall of China or strolling along the most picturesque beach. Watching THEM giggle uncontrollably at "peek-a-boo" tops any A-list comedian act. Seeing THEIR excitement when building a fort out of cardboard boxes and making a door big enough for daddy is superior to staying at 5-star resorts. Flying kites with THEM far outweighs excursions like parasailing or helicopter rides. Seeing THEM perform a recital on stage for the first time is more rewarding than watching a Broadway show or top notch symphony orchestra. ----------------- When you have children, all of a sudden you realize that life's greatest joys are not in the pursuit of things or pleasure or travel, but rather in the LOVE and bond you share with your very own image bearers. Seeing the beauty and magnificence and wonder of life all over again for the first time through THEIR eyes and expressions gives you something the world simply cannot offer, nor even come close.

So I just asked Grok, Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude which company out of the four Big Tech that report next week do they think could go up 10% on earnings… All 5 models said one name… $META. Going to be a crazy week.
amit@amitisinvesting

APRIL 29TH IS A BIG DAY. Microsoft, Google, Amazon, & Meta all have earnings...on the same day. The last time that happened? October 29th, 2020. So the question is...if you had to listen to only one earnings since all of them conflict, which one? For me, it's $META.

@JoshACarpenter @PGATOUR Big Mistake. Can’t put a price on the impact that venue had on the pga’s core audience. PGA needs to figure out a solution and keep Kapalua as the tour’s annual kick off event.

@WSJ @nicnguyen This is true. I tried to buy one on Monday and the sales guy said the entire world wide inventory was depleted due to data centers.

Pretty sure $AI is the only company that put AI in the name and still made it not work.

After going from $100 to $400 in a month-long short squeeze, will $car (Avis) raise capital at this lofty valuation? @MadMoneyOnCNBC

@Mike_kim714 Regarding 12, why doesn’t the pro golfer always hit over the left side of the bunker to the fat part of the green?

Some commenting on how 4 and 11 are tricky. When pros look at pins, we look at how aggressive one can be but also if there’s an easy bailout. 4 and 11 are very difficult to birdie yes but they present big bailout to the right I can hit it to. Lots of times, on hole 11, the hardest pins are those among the right because the bailout right presents a tricky up and down. Same thing with 4. The front pin is super hard because either bunker presents a tough up and down even though the hole is shorter

Overall, it could have been better, it could have been much worse. I’m proud with the way I fought and gave myself a chance to make the cut with my finish. I hit some balls and talked about some things Sean saw in my swing. A small set up adjustment with my driver. Need a decent round tomorrow to make the cut and that’s the goal for now. Let’s get after it. Also, I find it amazing how guys like Olazabal and Freddie are still competing. I know Freddie had a rough finish but it’s so so impressive what they’re able to do around here.

Augusta Diaries Thur: -Man, this course is haaarrddd haha. Personally, what I remember about watching the Masters as a kid are these runs of birdies coming in and the winner taking the trophy with birdies and eagles. But the other side is that the margins are so so tiny. The difference between a great shot and a horrible result is so so small. -Great ex is 3 today. You had to land a wedge in a 4 yard area to hit that green. I landed it too short and came off the green. Zach landed it a little too far and it’s over the green. Similar thing on 15, that green (especially being newer) is so firm, I didn’t hold the green landing the ball a foot past pin high. -The greens are quite firm but I never once thought it was out of control. It was a great set up and a set up with some really difficult pins. -Because the margins are so small, those little gusts have a profound effect on the results. A little off and you’re making bogey or double in a heartbeat.

We believe the take that Anthropic is eating PLTR's lunch, (amplified by Michael Burry's now-deleted post on X earlier today), is the wrong take and fictional narrative (in our view) as Palantir is at the epicenter of leaders in the AI Revolution. Core AI winner and tech leader🐂
