Yeah that statement from the article boggled my mind considering the post college grad unemployment rate. And that's not even looking into the amount of people with degrees/specialized skills that are working min wage jobs because they're not able to find jobs in their fields.

“nearly every American who wants a job has one” is such a fucking preposterous lie that I can scarcely believe it was written by a real person

Being an American right now is just waking up and being told how much more money our president is stealing and having to go about our day like normal.

Obama expressed empathy for Trayvon Martin and @benshapiro had a decade long tantrum. Imagine if instead he had stolen $1.8 bil from taxpayers and had BLM dole it out to whoever they wanted. Because that's what Trump is doing but for insurrectionist whites instead.

David is totally correct about this. The GOP is openly trying to design the US government so that it has a permanent conservative tilt. Democrats can't passively accept this unless they're willing to just give up on liberalism. And if they are I have no use for the party.
David Shor@davidshor

@jonatanpallesen @mattyglesias I think if you have a political party that’s obviously trying to cement permanent minority rule for themselves then you have to respond - you can’t actually always cooperate in an iterated prisoners dilemma

@BrettErickson28 @DeanBaker13 Especially suspect given they found the guy who bet on the Maduro capture in what, a few weeks? They know and they don’t care because it’s them.

Once you've literally stolen an election in plain sight via an unsigned opinion you go out of your way to say has no precedential value and then *three* of the people who worked on that case now sit on the Court, stripping voting rights isn't a very heavy lift

Roberts, Alito, and other conservative justices fully understand the potential consequences. They just don’t care. trib.al/mMZ5mGa

The Court is empowering itself to procedurely tap the breaks or gas on each new map, and shepherd maps toward their preferred outcome on a gas by case basis.

LANDMARK DECISION — The Supreme Court has narrowed Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act with their decision in Louisiana v. Callais, opening the door to sweeping redistricting changes across the South that could erase up to 10 majority-Black seats and flip them from blue to red.

We’re approaching 200 people killed without any investigation, trial, or sentence. And the deaths keep climbing, despite no independent indication whatsoever that the killings are having a significant impact on drug trafficking.

Remember kids, you can’t criticize the president for covering up the Epstein files or taking corrupt foreign deals while the economy implodes, but it’s okay to call Democrats cultists and domestic terrorists. That’s the official position of this White House.

WH Press Secretary Leavitt: The left-wing cult of hatred against the president and all of those who support him and work for him has gotten multiple people hurt and killed, and it almost did so again this weekend.

It was eons ago as far as Trump scandals go, but a prominent 2016 controversy was when he said that if Hillary won, maybe 2nd amendment people would do something about it. We don’t have to do this pretending game. He’s uniquely bad on basically everything.
Pradheep J. Shanker, M.D.@neoavatara

Trump does a lot of things I hate. But you know what he doesn't do? Promote political violence against his enemies. The same can't be said about the worst wackadoodles on the Far extremes right now.

dem electeds are far too restrained w their comments against trump & the right, but these kind of moments expose the INSANE DOUBLE STANDARD liberal media places on dems. everyone knows trump is uniquely violent in his language. criticizing the pres is democracy, not incitement!

If I vote Republican I increase the chance of shameful corruption happening in the White House, but decrease my chance of being robbed in my own neighborhood. Such a choice reveals one's beliefs about what it means to be "anti-crime".
