@AJDelgado13 This is how it’s ALWAYS been done. ALWAYS. The person (no matter who) comes in for a closed door deposition AND THEN they do a public hearing. He does NOT want to do that because the closed door is where the hard questions are asked. He does NOT get to remake the rules!

I just had a visit from the head of HR and the House ethics lawyer, I appreciate them letting me know that if I am expelled, I will lose my health benefits. I also appreciate the ethics lawyer, letting me know that in one case, a member who was potentially up for expulsion

Looks like I’m going to be having a sit down with my sons health teacher. Yesterday, they were asked to write down someone in politics they think is doing a good job. (Keep in mind, this is Health class) Then, they went around the room, and he asked them who they wrote down, and why they think they are doing a good job. When my son said “Joe Biden” his teacher shot back, “You must never want to have a 401k!” The teacher then went on to make several disparaging remarks about President Biden. My son is 14. He didn’t even know what the hell a 401k was. I’ll actually be talking to the Superintendent, and principle, first. If you are teaching Health…then teach health. Oh, and don’t play games to intentionally set a kid up for ridicule in front of their peers.

@the4star @punished_cait The manager himself said that she broke into tears. She didn’t make it up. He made her cry. I’m sure he explained what happened to his superiors. They assessed and decided he didn’t fit. Bottom line: the age of the asshole manager is over.

@amandaknox Congratulations! Many people spend their whole lives not figuring that out. People often cultivate a victim mentality that makes them miserable for no reason. Here you were an actual victim and realized that not accepting the present situation—whatever that may be—is madness.

George Washington wore a white wig as president. That would be considered abnormal now. Women wear pants and run marathons. Men are nurses. Etc., etc.

@GeorgeTakei Trade schools need students too. While advocating for better teacher wages, why not also support the trades? The world needs more builders just as much as we need visionaries.

Sadly, this is all too common. The amount teachers are paid in this country is truly shameful.
