This insect (Cicindela japonica) was incredibly difficult to photograph. It lives in swampland under trees and is only active during the hottest parts of summer. It is difficult to approach, and as you get close will depart only to fly further down the path to observe you again (which is where its nickname of "michi oshie" or "trail guide" comes from). I only had a cheap 100mm macro lens (F3.5). This was the best image I could capture. Many people think it is unreal, but it is not. This is the Japanese Tiger Beetle (ナミハンミョウ)

Kidding- both are acceptable. FWIW Noah Webster’s 1806 dictionary has ‘cancelled’, but in his 1828 edition the word is spelled as ‘canceled.’

Why is it ‘cancelled’ in the U.K. but ‘canceled’ in the U.S.? Because we gave them that L in 1776.

When I discuss Christian women being unable to find a Christian man who wants to be abstinent till marriage, there is literally no reason anyone should be responding with: “Well, is she a virgin?” That literally makes no difference whatsoever. If she is, she should be abstinent; if she’s not, she should still be abstinent. I have no idea why her virginity matters.

@unrealdawah @PaxNipponica @BrotherRasheed I explained this to him I personally killed many geckos, and if I had the chance, I would also kill the black dog When I see the objection of the disbelievers and apostates, I recall the saying "صياحك طرب"

I know. You kill geckos and lick each other’s fingers. But have you kissed the fertility goddess’s special place yet? al-Lāt (Allat/Lat), al-ʿUzzā (al-Uzza), and Manāt (Manat). In early Islamic tradition, primarily reported in early historical and exegetical sources (such as al-Tabari’s works, Ibn Sa’d, and others). According to these accounts: • While reciting Surah An-Najm (53:19-20) of the Quran in Mecca, Muhammad is said to have reached the verses questioning the pagan deities:
“Have you considered al-Lāt and al-ʿUzzā, and Manāt, the third, the other?” • Allegedly, Satan (Shaytan/Iblis) interjected or tempted him to add words praising them as “exalted gharāniq (cranes/high-soaring ones)” whose intercession could be hoped for. This temporarily pleased the Meccan pagans, as it seemed to acknowledge their goddesses alongside Allah. • Muhammad later recanted, attributing the added words to satanic influence. The verses were removed, and the current Quran text continues with rejection of these deities (emphasizing they are mere names invented by ancestors with no divine authority; see 53:21-23). Quran 22:52 is sometimes linked as addressing such satanic interference in revelations. The term “Satanic Verses” comes from this story and was popularized in modern times (e.g., Salman Rushdie’s novel). Many modern Muslim scholars reject or downplay the incident as weak or fabricated, while early sources and modern academics see it as plausible given the context of Meccan opposition and the Quran’s own references to these goddesses. Who Were These Goddesses? In pre-Islamic Arabia (especially around Mecca), they were prominent pagan deities: • Al-Lāt: Often associated with fertility, prosperity, or a mother goddess; had a major shrine at Ta’if. • Al-ʿUzzā: Linked to power, love, and protection; her cult was strong in Mecca, with a sacred tree or shrine. • Manāt: Goddess of fate, death, or destiny; associated with a shrine near Medina. They were viewed by some pagans as daughters or intercessors of the high god Allah.

This Muslim cleric is explaining to Muslims why they should kill a gecko with the first strike. He is simply following what Muhammad said in the hadith. Watch this insanity.

@PaxNipponica Yes, but you overlooked two crucial points 1 God created the gecko and knows it better than any of his other creatures 2 You are a crazy idiot who disregarded the words of the one who caused Moses to fell down unconscious when appearing to him and preferred this person over it👇
