The song speaks for itself. I implore that you give it a full listen. I'm sure I'll get flamed in the comments but had to put it out there. Lyrics by me, and used Suno to create the actual music. How I truly feel on the matter, despite all the shit posting in the past, this is 100% how I truly feel about all this civil war talk and stuff over the last couple of years.

@x_esk_x I just dont understand how someone like this gets a license. Like how do you pass the test and all that if you can't understand what is being said or asked?

@WarrenLNaida @levelsio No hate to the citizens, just fuck those euro rules though. I dont sell anything anyways, so no need for most to even sign up to my stuff. Only site I did business on was my photography site and only clients needed to sign up to see their pics and stuff.

Next week, only Pi is being used from now on. Codex is a good harness, but Pi's just better for me.

@anvik_design @jxnlco Yeah, cause i run my own xampp stuff locally and docker and all that too. I like to put projects on my shared host to keep costs down, and spinning up a $5 a month VPS for each project is just silly to me atm.

ChatGPT Sites is now in public beta. You can turn a prompt, file, or rough idea into a dashboard, project tracker, report, prototype, or lightweight app: build and edit directly in ChatGPT Work or Codex test in a private preview publish and share with a URL Rolling out across paid plans. Enterprise admins can control public publishing.

@pb_steele Honestly above all, if I had a comfortable income I didn’t have to work for I’d spend most of my time using my talents to help others (humans and animals).

Right. Suddenly everyone, including the guy on the street corner with the cardboard sign that reads “anything helps!” will have everything and be able to do everything. Next time I’ll see a homeless guy I’ll just say: “Hang in there, pal! According to the richest man on Earth you’ll soon have everything you could possibly need and want!” 🤦‍♂️

Elon Musk: AI+Robots will be able to do everything, resulting in universal high income. Work will be optional.

That definitely sounds like a blast! I know a big issue for me when I wasn't working before was lack of funds. I think it might have been different if I could have afforded what I wanted to do. Dog shelter and rehoming will definitely keep you on your toes and keep you busy too :)

If I didn’t have to work for the man I’d probably start a dog shelter and spend my days hanging out with the dogs, finding them new forever homes using my internet skills, that sort of thing. And I’d keep building stuff like I am now for fun. And cooking. And art. And vintage audio. And making music. Man I have so much I want to do!

Yeah its brutal. Its great ot laze about for a week or two, but then what? It just becomes depressing after a while. Idle hands and all that lol. What sort of hobbies do you think youd take up? I think id go harder into hardware and get back into my photography that I did for years.

Yeah many find a way to make a hobby fulfilling too and I would consider it "work". Its the ones that dont and just sit around all day doing nothing that it starts to become a problem long term where they get depressed and have a feeling of no purpose. I know when I retire, i'll definitely still be doing stuff on the side to keep that fulfillment going.

@pb_steele I’d be perfectly content not having a job and just doing whatever I like to do. I guess you could consider that “work” but I prefer the word “hobby” :)

@jeff_behnke_ I dont even know what loops are at this point. Never used them in the context of AI willingly at least. Did my fair share of while loops, for loops, and the occasional odd do while loops in my day though

Yeah we have had a few over the years that were very, "You must tell me what to do and lay it out exactly what my tasks are" they didnt last very long. We are a small team now, 3 full time devs, 1 sales guy, and some management types that handle other areas like ops and field work. We all wear multiple hats though and even though we aren't paid nearly what we are worth for the stuff we do, we all realize its a unicorn of a job to have this and the benefits and freedom we get far outweigh being a corporate slave. Its almost like a startup but its been around since 2004 and pretty established in our niche.

@pb_steele The big tell with a system like this that I've noticed, is you attract and retain the entrepreneur class of folks. Everyone else usually flunks out, with some exceptions.

I'm honestly wondering if an organization exists that literally embodies the notion that no manager should be telling you what to do, that you need not work set hours, you just figure out what matters to you, and you work on that. That'd shift how you need to hire out of necessity. You'd optimize for self-motivated people, and giving them the room to fail but betting they won't.

I mean hell, I setup our corporate accounts for Apple and Google on my own, I setup and run our company discord on my own, I manage the company corporate website on my own, we are given the freedom to take on and do whatever we think is best. I manage the marketing team too, as that was the gig I did in the past before landing a full time coding gig, so get to still play around in that domain too.

thats how we work basically. No set hours, we all just do what we want, and only get told to work on something if its like a group project for a client that needs to be done right away. Outside of that, we are left to our own devices and get to pick and choose what tickets we create and things we work on. I love it. I head from my team once a week for an hour and after that, its me and my own motivation to deliver. Though I have already mentioned this many times in the past, so probably not new info for ya lol
