@DanielRegha Factories require patience, planning, and actual productivity… hotels just need a ribbon, a hashtag, and one celebrity for commissioning. 😭

Why hotels all the time, what happened to investing in factories that are long-term projects?

@IU_Wakilii Adams Oshiomhole tried to raise a point of order, but Godswill Akpabio raised the volume instead.
At this point, it’s less “Red Chamber” and more “reality TV reunion”, everybody shouting, nobody listening. 🍿

BREAKING: Senate proceedings turned rowdy as Adams Oshiomhole clashed with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over the newly amended standing orders.
Oshiomhole tried to raise a point of order during the reading of votes and proceedings, but Akpabio blocked him, insisting the rules did not permit it.
Despite repeated explanations and warnings from other senators, Oshiomhole continued protesting.
Akpabio to threaten disciplinary action and possible removal from the chamber.

My thoughts on colorism in Alaigbo:
It’s clear that among Ndi Igbo, there is a wide range of natural skin tones. From my observations, there seem to be some regional patterns.
For instance, many people from Northern Igbo areas tend to have darker complexions, and this is also noticeable among some riverine communities.
On the other hand, states within the rainforest belt, especially Imo and Abia, appear to have a larger proportion of lighter-skinned individuals. Similarly, in many parts of Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, as well as Eastern Delta and Northern Rivers, lighter skin tones seem quite common.
In fact, in many families, you’ll find a mix, some are light skin, some are dark skin, sometimes the trait appears dominant, other times recessive.
In my own case, I have a dark complexion, my wife is dark-skinned, yet our son turned out light-skinned.
My grandmother is dark-skinned while my grandfather was very very light-skinned.
My Uncle is extremely light skin, while my mother is dark skin.
Even among those who are neither very light nor very dark, there is often a distinct brown tone. I think that’s what you people describe as “caramel.”
If you spend time in universities across Alaigbo, you might notice a visible mix of these tones, with lighter and medium-brown complexions appearing quite prominent.
The truth is the very dark skin you see in other parts of the country seem less common among Igbo populations, which is also a historical fact that connects “Red Eboe” skin tone description that was used to identify Ndi Igbo.
A friend of mine, Towmiwa, once mentioned that he could often guess whether someone is Igbo based on complexion alone.
It is interesting, but he was not completely correct because he regarded some who are from some south south states and it wasn’t even about light skin or dark skin.
States like Cross River, Edo, Ondo, and Akwaibom all the way to South Cameroon have a lot of light skin and caramel as well.
The same skin tone you would easily mistake for “Igbo skin”
What do they have in common ? Rainforest? Food? Genetics? Whether? Who knows?

@adamugarba @BashirAhmaad Predictions like this are heavy, but what exactly is the basis? If concerns about electoral credibility exist, they should be backed with evidence, not just anticipation. Otherwise, it risks sounding like preemptive delegitimization.

@HQNigerianArmy My concern here is that it could even be one of those clowns who also pays for his kit posting these things. Meanwhile, his conscience might be racing while he’s typing as well.

RE: ALLEGATIONS BY DISMISSED EX-LANCE CORPORAL ROTIMI OLAMILEKAN
The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to a sensationalised report circulating on social media and mainstream news platforms featuring an interview with a dismissed soldier, Ex-18NA/77/1009 Lance Corporal Rotimi Olamilekan, popularly known as “Soja Boi.” In the interview, he made allegations regarding welfare, remuneration and the provision of uniforms and protective equipment for Nigerian Army personnel. While the Nigerian Army remains focused on its core mandate of safeguarding the nation, it has become necessary to correct these falsehoods to prevent the public from being misled.
The Nigerian Army categorically states that Mr. Olamilekan was not dismissed for “speaking the truth” or expressing opinions on political leadership. He was dismissed following persistent and grave acts of indiscipline, including violations of the Armed Forces Social Media Policy. Like all professional militaries, the Nigerian Army operates under a strict Code of Conduct and the Armed Forces Act. Unauthorised media appearances, commercialisation of military identity, partisan content creation and misuse of military uniform constitute clear breaches of established regulations. His dismissal followed due process in line with military laws.
On the issue of remuneration, the Nigerian Army operates a well-structured and transparent salary system, where earnings are determined by rank and years of service, as clearly stipulated in the Manual of Financial Administration for Armed Forces of Nigeria (MAFA). In addition to consolidated monthly salaries, personnel are entitled to uniform allowances and other allowances, which are periodically paid directly into their accounts.
Furthermore, troops deployed on operations or assigned to duties outside their units receive Ration Cash Allowance, Habit Allowance, in addition to free feeding arrangements. Personnel serving in operational theatres, such as Operation HADIN KAI in the North East, are also paid operational allowances and other mission-specific entitlements designed to support their welfare and enhance operational effectiveness. The portrayal of soldiers as receiving no additional benefits beyond basic salary is therefore misleading and inaccurate.
The claim that soldiers are required to purchase uniforms and protective equipment, including bulletproof vests and helmets, is entirely false. The Nigerian Army prioritises the welfare, safety, and force protection of its personnel. The provision of uniforms, kits, arms, ammunition, and operational gear is an institutional responsibility executed through established logistics systems. Dedicated ordnance units oversee the procurement, storage, and issuance of these items to ensure troops are adequately equipped for operations. While some personnel may choose to supplement issued kits based on personal preference and comfort, such actions are voluntary and do not indicate any systemic failure. The assertion that troops operate without protective gear is not only false but also reckless, as it undermines public confidence and troop morale.
For the avoidance of doubt, no soldier is deployed to an operational theatre without the necessary protective equipment. Claims that such gear is only issued during ceremonial visits are deliberate falsehoods intended to mislead the public. The Nigerian Army remains committed to the highest standards of discipline, accountability, and troop welfare. Operational decisions regarding postings and deployments are guided strictly by strategic and operational requirements.

It’s another day to reflect on how troubled we are as a nation. 🤔 An individual, acting within their capacity and capability, may want to contribute to social projects without any personal interest in government, yet such a person could be arrested or sued. This is often because they perceived the gesture as a threat to their corrupt practices and personal gain…
English

@Sowore just won my heart right now… honestly. The guy came to LASU about 8 years ago to engage us (union leaders) politically, and he really messed up with some of his dispositions back then. But from watching some of his recent social engagements, I can say we truly need more people like him.
A lot of things are genuinely wrong, to be candid. These politicians have made basic needs so scarce that we now see them as privileges rather than rights.
Thank you, @Sowore.
