github copilot student plan is now just the free plan with unlimited autocomplete. 200 AI credits per month. that's $2 worth. they gave students the best AI coding tool for free, got them hooked, then switched to credit-based billing and gutted the plan in the same month. first, they switched everyone to usage-based pricing, and now the student plan is more or less vanished. it seems like the free tier battle is done, the free tier wars are over. everyone pays now.

I have student plan for the GH copilot, and it ended up month usage and 2-3 prompts which were generally for the refactor itself. Man, the usage based sub is insane 😂

@bprajwal_ @cursor_ai I have been using cursor for more than a year now. Previously used the student plan, but can’t proceed further now. Haven’t faced anything to switch atm. I do use other agent as well like @opencode , and @CommandCodeAI along with @cline and @kilocode . Stayed with cursor though
