As a father, I believe one of the greatest responsibilities of a man is to honour and appreciate the woman who carries and nurtures the children that become part of his family. In doing so, respect for her family becomes a true reflection of one’s character, maturity and values.
As Minister of Youth, I wish to encourage our young citizens to embrace a culture of respect, dignity and restraint, particularly in moments of disagreement or personal conflict. True leadership is not demonstrated through intimidation, abuse of authority or the misuse of influence against others, especially women and the elderly.
No grievance, misunderstanding or separation should ever justify the use of power, money or office to suppress, intimidate or humiliate another family. Our children learn more from our conduct than from our words, and I want mine to inherit a legacy founded on respect, integrity, peace and humanity.
Peace begins with me. Peace begins with you. Peace begins with all of us.

The Constitutional Court of Zimbabwe today reserved judgment in two cases challenging Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 during hearings held in Harare.
The judges focused heavily on the issue of timing, repeatedly asking the lawyer representing the litigants, Professor Lovemore Madhuku, whether the applications were not premature and whether it might be better to wait until the entire legislative process had been completed before approaching the court.
One of the judges, Justice Ben Hlatshwayo, suggested that some of the contentious issues could potentially be resolved through a referendum. The remarks appeared to signal that the bench may be more inclined towards allowing citizens to decide on the proposed constitutional changes through a referendum, rather than allowing the amendment to pass solely through Parliament without direct public approval.
However, the true position of the court will only become clear once the judges deliver their ruling. The matter was reserved to allow the bench time to consider the arguments presented by all parties before handing down judgment.

Apparently Magistrate Manokore who is involved in Sonia’s case is ill, so her bail issue could not be finalized today. They must come back tomorrow.
