@Heccles94 The amount is irrelevant. What IS relevant is whether it’s legal or not. There’s a huge difference between tax avoidance (legal) & tax evasion (illegal). We’re HUGELY overtaxed for ever worsening services in UK, so using tax avoidance measures is prudent.

@Panimu @NicholasTyrone @Daves1412 Any particular reason that the oil companies would give the UK preferential prices if allowed to drill for more oil or gas? Also, oil and gas are still being extracted from the North Sea but at increasing costs. Are we seeing a benefit?

If drilling the North Sea for oil in the UK is a waste of time and not cost effective for companies, as the government claims, why not just allow them to drill as much as they want given they won't do if the government is correct in its assumptions?

@AnnabelDenham1 Have you checked the cost of fuel at your local garage? Why has the price increased for petrol and diesel that is already in the garage's holding tanks? There is an argument for replacement costs for future deliveries but otherwise it is profiteering.
