Designers get caught up in the work. Sharing often takes a back seat. Here’s a quick look at some of the things I’ve been designing lately.

@petarc We’re hoping to just go back to Dubai, but if we change our mind it will likely be Australia.

It hadn’t sunk in while there, but Dubai had quickly become home. Currently spending time back in Australia until we work out our next step, craving getting back to routine.

Made another code component with Claude today. Custom slider with photo and video uploads, blur effects, and cursors that switch direction based on which side you click. This is becoming my favorite workflow. Best time to be a designer!

I don’t tweet about politics much. But this budget is ruinous. It just feels so anti-Australian. Where do I put my money? Why invest? Might as well pump the ppr ponzi. Why not do something dramatic like offer 0 CGT on investments in Australian businesses. Where’s the incentive to build.

Guys, I think we're still safe. I got Hermes to create a connection to my Tesla battery in my Home Assistant dashboard. I mean 10 points for trying, right?

I've been putting off creating a Home Assistant setup for years purely because I didn't want to have to write custom YAML scripts to do my configurations. In the last day I've set up a Hermes Agent on a Raspberry Pi and just through talking with it have created a fully customised dashboard connecting all of my home services. Absolutely incredible. And it's allowed me to create automations connecting one piece of tech to another, which isn't available within the native applications. Now I'm getting more out of my home than I did before. AI is such an unlock.

@rahulluthra22 Had a client no-show this week. After that, the chances of us working together are basically zero. 🙅‍♂️

Clockify billing you for the unused seats is the darkest UX pattern I've seen. I was getting billed an extra 50 EUR per month and had to go to the settings and manually remove the seats. Makes me want to switch to another tool. Any suggestions?

Is OpenClaw about to go the way of WordPress? Open plugins built the empire. Open plugins also built the breach headlines.

A designer I spoke to last week said it went two years really quiet and then everything hit all at once. Signed four enterprise clients, all referrals, all running at the same time. And now he's turning down work. This is the same week I saw three different threads on X about how designers are finished and AI replaced everyone. The people with the biggest audiences in this space are often the furthest from the actual market and they're optimizing for engagement, not for clients. The industry isn't dying. It's just that the people who are busy don't have time to post about it. They just keep their heads down and work.
