South Carolina will never have fair courts as long as the legislature controls the judges who rule on their cases. One branch owns the process. One branch controls the outcomes. And the citizen is left with a system that answers to insiders instead of the Constitution. This is why we are fighting to restore an independent judiciary. No more lawyer legislators picking the very judges they argue in front of. No more conflicts baked into the system. No more power consolidated in the hands of a few. A free people cannot thrive under a captured court. Judicial independence is the backbone of trust and the foundation of equal justice.
