@petecodes Did exactly that stack to replace webflow at @ImprovMX. But it wasn't to save money. Flat astro files are simply a more AI native format. So easy to have claude modify our website of files compared to the proprietary webflow ux + buggy mcp.

James saved a lot of money with coding his own solutions 💰 A prime candidate for this is cutting out Framer/Webflow - Make a site in Cluade with Astro.JS - Push that to Github - Cloudflare hosts for free and syncs with GitHub That's what I did for my newsletter directory

You need anyone's permission to start an online business We don't need to borrow $15k to start a website All you need to spend is your time Permissionless is really the best route

I've permanently saved $300/mo on SaaS apps by either switching to open-source or using Fable I don't trust apps to not be selling my data or using it to train their AIs or smth, so I've been on a side-quest to self-host everything in the last few months I've replaced these 6:
