spotlight is occasionally broken, but the windows finder is even worse. it takes like 1 minute just to load up. yeah i know something's fcked with my windows, but i don't even have the energy to figure out why i only log in occasionally to play steam games, how the heck did it mess itself up so badly

wow I love this. my #1 criteria for a restaurant is whether I'll actually be able to hear the person I'm with. Another pet peeve is how 90% of restaurants have 2 seater tables where you sit across from each other. In a loud restaurant you literally need to shout across to hear each other.

@patrickc @jeff_weinstein There’s an app called Soundprint that let’s you capture the decibel level for a restaurant and add it to a map. It’s very easy to use and most importantly free!!

Since half of Factorio is just thinking about what to do, you can "play" Factorio without the game even running.

Companies like linear are in a tough spot. I like Linear, it's useful for issue tracking. Have felt 0 pressure internally to replace it for something vibecoded - it "just works", and I'm happy to pay for it. But I have zero interest in using their "Linear Agent" or "Linear Coding Agent", and I'm sure most teams feel the same way. I just want to plug Letta Code into a Linear skill (which I already do, and it works great). I guess that's the problem - if you're Linear, what's left to build?
Linear@linear

Issue tracking is dead. We are building what comes next. linear.app/next

@BrendanFalk @NotionHQ or just give claude code MCP access to notion and everything else idk why I'd use a notion agent. notion is just the storage repository for docs.

@charlespacker literally every saas I pay for, is trying to shove agents down my throat: linear, notion, github, slack, sentry, betterstack when claude code can do everything, why use these other agents???

Every. single. day. It's increasingly becoming difficult to do real work with GitHub. Git isn't the issue, since I can work offline. Its issues, PRs, CI, etc. Imagine going to work and your workstation randomly restarts a few times a day. That's what it feels like using GH.

hahaha i found that out after i clicked your x bio! unfortunately that's tabled for now. i trust your writing, but i haven't been super impressed by balaji's thoughts so far. to be fair, i haven't given him a close look, and he's 100000x more successful than me, but nothing from him that has filtered through the channels has proven surprisingly correct or insightful so far (sometimes the opposite in fact)

The only book an entrepreneur needs.
Eric Jorgenson 📚 ☀️@EricJorgenson

🚨📕 THE BOOK OF ELON IS NOW LIVE!!! 🎉🚀 This is the book we WISHED @elonmusk would write… “All of Elon's most useful ideas, in his own words.” Learn directly from the world’s greatest entrepreneur, like you’re sitting across from him at dinner. It took FIVE YEARS to make this for you. Because it's built from hundreds and hundreds of Elon's public appearances. I went through 3,000,000+ words to collect the most useful and timeless ideas. The final book is ~50,000 words. Every word is USEFUL. (This is what I do. My first book, The Almanack of Naval Ravikant, is one of the top 100 most highlighted books of all time on Kindle.) Then, I spent $50,000+ on editing and design so it looks and feels beautiful. Then… > Foreword by @naval. > Visuals by @jackbutcher. > Blurb from @mrbeast. > Published by @scribemediaco. > And yes, approval on this idea from Elon himself, thanks to @samteller. I went Maximum Effort to make this an all-timer. We got 10/10 on reviews from early readers, then worked on it for ANOTHER YEAR. Why so much effort? My mission is to create One Million Musks. For a generation to lift our gaze and build, so our grandchildren live in a world beyond our wildest dreams. I’m an independent author. I don’t get an advance. I risk my own time and money to make these books. Then we give away millions of them. Digital versions are free. I believe this book can benefit every human, and if you can’t pay five bucks for it, I want to personally gift it to you. Because I know it is useful. Useful how? You may be seeking purpose, a mission worthy of your life’s effort. You may have a clear purpose and seek the tools for success. You will find both in this book. Get the benefits of Elon’s entire life of hard-won lessons in a five-hour, easy read. (I checked, it’s a 5th-grade reading level.) You’ll feel personally mentored by the greatest entrepreneur in history. Click below to buy it now on Amazon, Audible, or directly from me. Amazon: amzn.to/47avSuh Audible: lnkd.in/gi_7HrFP Me: lnkd.in/gS2xWUWH If you’re not sure it’s worth $4.99 yet, just start reading the free version. PLEASE take 6 seconds to Like, Bookmark, and Repost. Even better: send this to your friends, team, or Group Chats! I guarantee this book will improve their lives. Spread the word! Every little thing helps. Your support spreads good ideas around the world, helping people and making the future better for everyone. Thank you! Forward. Together.

How to set up a new laptop in 2026: 1. Ask Claude to review your current apps and configs and document it in markdown. 2. Install Ghostty and Claude Code on new laptop. 3. Give Claude the markdown file and let it rip It even remembered to disable natural scrolling!!!

Anyone trying to learn a new language (spoken not code) with AI? I've been trying to learn Chinese, and been trying things out the last couple of days. Surprisingly, none of the language companies I've found have modernized to the LLM world. In fact many communities like /r/languagelearning are actively hostile to LLMs! (makes sense since jobs are at stake) The best I've found so far is: - ChatGPT voice mode (none of the other big AI models do voice conversation, they're just voice to text dictation) - Make sure it's non-full-screen, so ChatGPT will talk back to you, and you'll see the foreign language written out - set a custom instructions personalization on your ChatGPT account, to not be overly praising of me, and to repeat phrases back to me until my pronunciation is good enough (this saves you a lot of time listening to ChatGPT telling you how good you're doing) - keep launching new chats every once in awhile(don't re-use the giant pre-existing one), because long chats cause the translation to take too long - when you're ready for something new, just ask ChatGPT to teach you a new sentence Having spent 4 years in college learning Chinese a decade ago, this is like 1 million times better..... and it's actually fun, whereas it was teeth grinding before.

i HATE how upon clicking a Zoom link from gCal it has to load up the giant app, and have you sign in, and then you oftentimes gotta click the link again because the deep link didn't work. With Google Meet, you already have chrome open due to gCal, and so the Google Meet window opens seamlessly
