It is time to start looking at what cannabis does and doesn’t do independent of what alcohol does and doesn’t do. Y’all are getting mixed up in the comparison. I’ve covered both on the podcast. The data have been clear, traditional media is just late to the punch. But you do you!

I subscribed to FSD on Jan 14 for a cross-country drive and loved it. Huge reduction in stress and fatigue. I thought I had cancelled when the trip ended, but I didn’t do it correctly and was renewed Feb 14. I called support within two days and hadn’t used it, but they said the TOS doesn’t allow refunds. The rep I spoke with was kind and professional, and I appreciate that. I’ll own my mistake, but it feels like the kind of situation where taking care of the customer would build enormous goodwill. I asked that this feedback be passed along in case it helps future decisions. Also, I would absolutely pay for a day-pass. If I have a 10–12 hour drive, $20–$30 would be a no-brainer. Still a believer in the product.

Hey, thanks! I appreciate that! It's not easy. The first 3 days are always the hardest. I actually just traveled cross-country in my Tesla. So, in the first part of my trip, I booked a KOA with nothing around. I've found changing my environment like that really helps. If you ever want to reach out, don't hesitate. Look at the stories laid before you. The things to believe in. The facts to know. Where did they come from? We rarely ask. Each story was sent from somewhere, for some purpose— crafted by someone, for a reason. But why? To do what? These are the questions we forget to ask. We speak without speaking to each other. We don’t see each other anymore— only the things made for us to see.

Love seeing what you’re building with Gauntlet, Austen. I’ve followed your work since Lambda—few people have done more to make real, merit-based education accessible. You've been an inspiration. I spent 7+ years in the wine industry, but my true passion has always been education. Last year, I joined AmeriCorps to mentor in public schools, started a Master’s in Learning Design & Technology, and began self-learning AI and design. I’m still early, but I’d do anything to be around people this driven—even start with grunt work, sleep on the floor, whatever it takes. Just being in that kind of environment would accelerate everything I’m building toward.

2 things stood out to me. Not the first, nor the last time he talks about hurting people or wishing death on them. And, "Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy", doesn't feel like an original thought. Something that's been learned or transferred. From where? Probably a professor.

One of the projects I’ve been working on is called Wine With Pete. At its core, it’s about creating spaces where people can come together—sometimes just to enjoy being present, and sometimes to dig into our own projects and goals. What I love most is when those conversations uncover unexpected ways we can help each other along our journeys. That’s the kind of connection I hope to find more of while on the road.
