At most, a more experienced/composed/careful CB allows Guiliano Simeone to go ahead & shoot. That’s about that. Even you can let him go shoot if your head is there at the time. It’s the same reason anything over 50—60m is a poor decision for a CB in the FLICK-SYSTEM. Barcelona’s defense is very system based & starts from the counter-pressing. The CBs have very little to do once teams bypass the middle. The CBs have no time to delay the opposition attackers, they only chase down.
