The Guardian has just published its "100 best novels of all time" list — these are the top 12. Toni Morrison's Beloved is in 2nd. Dostoevsky does not make the top 25... What do you think?

Middlemarch is great, not sure if greatest, but it's a great work. Beloved has no right to be in this list. To the Lighthouse isn't even Woolf's best book, nor is Bleak House Dickens' best. Wuthering Heights is a better novel than all of the English first-language choices there. Crime and Punishment maybe should be in top 10. I know Brothers Karamazov is said to be his best, but I plead ignorance, haven't read it.

We’re in the “late stage capitalism” phase of dating game theory Famous athletes used to go and sleep with random groupie women no questions asked bc of the status differential But average women now realize that if a high-status guy ever hits on them, their best move is to make a huge deal about how “famous men want to have sex with me!!” and post it all over the internet for attention Guys see this and make a mental note that interacting with women appears to be reputationally hazardous. Magic 9 finals in 13 years while winning 5. He won a title as a rookie. Played center when Kareem couldn’t play. Scored 42 points, 15 rebounds & 7 assist. He’s the greatest Laker of all time and best point guard ever. Respectfully, I’ll take Magic 🙏🏾

@thamosdeaf @PanasonicDX4500 Greatest athlete doesn't necessarily translate to greatest basketball player. In terms of raw athleticism it's hard to beat Wilt (speed, strength, vertical, endurance) but a guy like Kobe had superior skills to Wilt.

@PanasonicDX4500 I think this argument breaks down entirely when it comes to the biggest freaks in any sport. Wilt was breaking people’s wrists on blocks. Kareem himself said he was brutal to play against. There are pictures of Wilt slightly before death mogging SHAQ. He was The Greatest Athlete.
