@banf Fun fact, this is the A5 and it has a marble arch at each end. (well, almost. The last mile was redesignated to the A5154 in 2001)

London architecture and history never fail to amaze me What do you mean there's a perfectly straight road that goes from outer London right up to Hyde Park

There are runways at 7 active airfields inside the M25 (Greater London boundary): - Heathrow: 2 used (parallel east-west, 09L/27R & 09R/27L) - London City: 1 used - RAF Northolt: 1 used (military/civilian) - Biggin Hill: 1 used - Denham: 1 used (GA) - Elstree: 1 used (GA) - Stapleford: 1 used (GA) No intact disused runways remain—old sites like Croydon/Heston have been built over or erased. No third runway at Heathrow yet. Tom Scott vibes confirmed.

@westcountrytim @TfL Looks a bit narrow. Dismounting is probably the safest thing for cyclists

Signage wrong again on the CS3 closure on Tower Hill. If the road is still open it should be a ‘Cyclists rejoin main carriageway’ @TfL

Trump on Greenland: I'm helping NATO, and until the last few days when I told them about Iceland, they loved me—they called me daddy. A very smart man said he's our daddy. NATO is not there for us on Iceland. Our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland.

Are Claude Skills really necessary? Given the entirety of everything it knows, it seems moot to give it a tiny prod of extra context for certain things. FWIW I'm using Claude to code Ruby and it's pretty much nailing every request with Opus 4.5

@DavidBlakeman13 22 Years military, 15 years train driver. I agree. Squaddies, like most public sector workers, should get paid more.

I don’t know but I would hazard a guess a train driver earns at least three times as much as a squaddie in the British Army today. Does anyone out there actually think that that is morally correct and as it should be. Just thinking around the problem of recruitment across our armed forces.
