And if PSG are the centre of football in 2026 then it makes me think “what can Liverpool do to be on that level” And that makes me hope that Richard Hughes/Michael Edwards and Will Spearman are all a lot smarter than everyone else on social media because the signings were linked to are not going to move the needle to anywhere close to PSG. Wirtz, Ekitike, Isak, Kerkez was definitely an inspired window. They all take us closer to that zenith. But all the names fans are clamouring for this summer? Not sure he moves the needle enough. Diomande might be a shout. I think he has a real Mané feeling about him. The way he dribbles and uses his body is so next level. Not in complexity but in pure efficiency. He does what is needed, he does it well, he does it often. I can get behind that. But in midfield, we need something and I’m not sure Wharton solves that. So I’m hoping the big men at the top of the hierarchy have done their homework and bring us transfer targets who are unexpected but prove that we’ve done the homework needed to eclipse PSG.

@jimmybagels306 @Robbie_OR I'd start both on the bench. The reality is that this game will probably be tight and if it's a draw we play 120 minutes. I'd rather them on the pitch from 60-120 and pens than the first 60 mins. If they can win it for us between 60-90 then great

Thankfully it didn’t affect the outcome of the match, but yet again Simon Hooper proved why he’s the most inept/biased ref in the league when he somehow deemed Dan Burn’s challenge on Cody Gakpo at the end to be fair, it was clearly a 2nd yellow if not a straight red. Unreal.
