Think we've reached the point where it's more of a flex to have a crappy old car than a shiny new one. Shows you have your priorities straight. I work in car insurance and can confirm that the vast, vast majority of people with fancy cars have them on ludicrous finance deals

In the late seventies Doris Doors filmed an advert for fresh cream cakes. Sadly they chose to air the Barbara Windsor one instead and Doris's version was never seen... until today! Had a DIY job to do, with an electric drill, today. However, we had a proper workman round doing a couple of jobs. Didnt want to look like a middle class twonk half arsing the job in front of a pro, so sat on my phone till he'd gone before I started.

Dreamcatcher was released 23 years ago. Stephen King wrote the novel while recovering from the accident that nearly killed him in 1999. Still heavily medicated, he drafted the story longhand in notebooks, which he later said shaped its fever-dream tone.

I apologise for everything. JFK's assassination, world hunger, war in the Middle East, climate change, cost of living crisis, and what some other bloke said at the Bafta's who wasn't me. Happy now?

The TV show Derek exists because Ricky Gervais wanted to do something with the grim impressions he amused his mates with at school. Stuck in a load of mawkish gubbins about kindness to throw people off the scent.

What's the point of the state if it's not managing basic resources and industries. Railways, healthcare, power, water, post office and more should be publicly owned. In any sane system this wouldn't even be up for debate.

Analytics shows me when clients have accessed my server. I also see details of their geographic locations. Many are clearly using VPNs. Which means they've probably been accessing porn. Not my confession but theirs. The dirty buggers.

Like the buffoon I undoubtedly am, I'm afraid I missed Ian la Frenais' 90th birthday yesterday. Not that I was invited to the party or anything. I just mean I missed commemorating it by posting something brilliant from his incredible body of work. Anyway, better late than never. One of my absolute favourite sitcom spin-off films is Porridge, which I must watch at least six times a year. It's one of the first films I remember really enjoying as a kid and it gets better with age IMHO. That'll do then. Good evening.
