There's two types of men in the world - those who understand why women choose the bear, and those who are the reason why women choose the bear.

Why is matchmaking expensive? To illustrate, here’s how I’ll lose money on a client’s $49,000 package. Client is 46, 6’2, exited tech founder. He’s looking for a woman 27-33, very specific criteria around match personality, appearance, and profession. Without diving into specifics, she: • Isn’t easily searchable online... • Isn’t likely to reply when we find her… • Isn’t likely to be single… • Often has a deal-breaker trait we can’t screen for without a phone call… • Isn’t necessarily interested in my client… I was expecting this to be a difficult search, so I quoted $49,000. I wasn’t expecting ~100 hours of labor to find each match, not including communication with the client! To date I’ve spent $45,000 on salaries for the women staffed on his search, plus $2,750 on styling and photos, and we still owe the client 2 matches... Before considering overhead (let alone opportunity cost) this will be a huge L financially. Things balance out though. Most engagements are profitable. Some engagements are quite profitable. For example, a new client in NYC paid $30,000 and paused after his first match, because he’s 99% sure we found his wife. That's still a new relationship, and engagements last 9 months (6 months of active matching + up to 3 months of pause), so we could be on the hook for more work in coming months. But you get the point 🙏

@MANonCompliant @Timcast I don't think she knew the cards coming, I think she was working with someone who had access to the stream (so could see Garrett's hole cards) and signaled her that he had 87 and she was ahead at the time. They ran it twice so normally she would expect to split it, but won both.

@Timcast How did she cheat? Because to me it looked like two people chasing big hands. You would almost think that was two amateurs. So if she cheated, how did she do it? Because the entire deck would have had to be mapped for her to do so and that means the casino was in on it.

@squums @John_Zannis I do want to go there. My entire point is that we can slow down hundreds of plays a game for every team and see moments like this. Shai and the Thunder are just in the spotlight because they're good, so I suppose I just need to live with it.

This is what people mean when say “unethical” hoops. This is simply not Basketball. Try to stick your arm underneath someone else’s to make it look like you got hooked. No real effort to try and get by them. Call it crafty if you want, I say it’s lazy.

@Brock900_ @AyeItsJoel @WWE The Legacy wing has always had people inducted with a video package, no speeches. They've done posthumous inductions where someone gives a speech (like Vader or Rick Rude), but that's the distinction between a regular induction and a Legacy wing induction. Sid should get regular.

@FBallAnalysisYT Both are going 0/20. But facing Skenes isn't going to put you in the hospital, you'll just be embarrassed. Garrett is going to blow by you untouched 19/20 times and the 20th time he'll put you in the ground and rearrange your internal organs with his cleats.

@bgibs1994 @LegendOfWinning He compared someone playing 60 to someone playing 75, well he played 16 fewer games than Iverson that year, so by his logic that's a big difference.

@DebriefSportif Yeah, that’s crap. More than two dribbles after the pass and it shouldn’t be an assist.

@CoachDasch @Bmoresports00 @xanbarksdale A successful stolen base wouldn't be negated by an ABS challenge. Because the runner could steal the base on a strike 3 anyways. In the situation in the video, they wouldn't be given a double play because the original call impacted it, they'd send the runner back to first.

Sorry I wasn’t clear on what I meant. I was thinking late in the game, but earlier in the count. Successful stolen base negated by an ABS challenge, runner goes back. Just thought it would be an interesting way to exploit the system if that was the standard practice of enforcement.

Interesting ABS situation here. 3-2, runner goes, ball 4 is called and he pulls up into 2B. Catcher challenges… and now you start to wonder what would happen if it’s overturned. Are the announcers right, would this become a double play? Or would the umpires send the runner back to first since the original call influenced the play?

@ReemAmirIbrahim Casinos are only open to adults. Kids don't have money to shop at supermarkets. Kids ARE targeted by social media algorithms to keep them engaged with content, often content that serves to make them feel bad about themselves. That's the difference.

Should gambling addicts sue casinos? Should overeaters sue supermarkets? Obviously not! So why are social media companies being sued? We're entering a world where companies that create something other people actually want are at risk of being sued, banned, or heavily regulated.

@GivnerAriel They literally admitted targeting children and fine-tuning their algorithms to keep them engaged, often with content that made the kids feel worse about themselves. Monetization of misery.

This is disgusting and I can’t wait for the appeals. The precedent set by YouTube being liable for screen-time addiction is kind of scary. Treating algorithms like a defective product opens the door to endless lawsuits over “addictive” tech. What’s next? Books, video games, junk food? What happened to personal responsibility?

@CornsBack @RomanEra0 Caring about your work != wanting to win scripted matches. The job is to entertain, and Chelsea does that as well as anyone on the roster. It's because she does it so well and makes her opponents look great that she's getting paid to lose all these matches.

Chelsea Green says she doesn't mind losing so many matches in WWE because her bank account ain't losing: “Everyone gives me a hard time for being a 'professional loser' “But like my bank account ain't losing. Do you know what I mean? Like my my beautiful house that I built with my husband, that's not losing. The dogs and cats that I have, the things that I'm able to treat my family to, I'm flying my best friend down from Canada to spend my birthday with me like that is a luxury I never thought I would have. And that's what I want for my future. “But then ask me in in two more years. I don't know. Maybe I'll change my mind.” (@937theFan)
