@eldivine Oh I see this journey has been a long one. I like that you're taking your time, doing your research and if you do become Catholic eventually, you'd be a devoted one.

Re last RT. 15 million Naira and 3 months later, the poster's mother who had stage 4 ovarian cancer is dead. 5 year survival for this type of cancer is over 80% in advanced healthcare systems and much worse locally. It's hard but you should have serious conversations with your folks as they get older about what's the limit when it comes to spending on expensive illnesses with poor prognosis.

It's giving, "If your Priest isn't sounding like Joshua Selman, your Priest should go for pastoral training 😂😂😂" and if Sunday mass doesn't look like Koinonia fellowship, parishioners souls are at risk! People like that are a problem to the faith, they should go in peace.

Protestants will insist that Saints are dead and we shouldn't seek their intercession. Whereas in today's gospel reading, Jesus literally said in John 11:25-26 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will live, even though they die; 26 and all those who live and believe in me will never die. Do you believe this?” So if Jesus will say this, why then do Prots insist on saying something that is contrary to what Jesus had said and made clear to us all?? I need to understand why Protestants reason in the manner that they do.

@emiroflagos @_ebelechukwu You see that "...led by the holy spirit" you just said is a big problem. That is why you have Protestantism. If everyone is allowed to teach according to what they believe the holy spirit led them to, there would be chaos. Every Sunday in the catholic church has a theme.

Ebere let’s leave the Pentecostal aspect aside for abit and focus on the fact she has been a catholic and she said the gospel “these days”. Most catholic priests these days don’t take time to study, meditate and pray on the reading before coming on the alter. Also of them are busy chasing careers. Yes! For me it started at Our lady queen of peace parish ABU Zaria with Dr. Rev. Fr . Dominic and Dr. Rev.Fr Mamman at some point, during mass you can’t different their preaching from a philosophy lecture. Their became more engrossed in the academia than the spirituality of the gospel. Have you noticed that when a young priest or a full time dedicated priest says mass, the feeling is different? Because they take time with the Holy Spirit and most of what comes out of their mouth wasn’t scripted but ‘led by the holy ghost’ . Today a priest would come back from a trip 11pm Saturday , he must have gone through the readings , gets on the alter on Sunday Monday and reads from his bullet point that he wrote.

As someone who was once Anglican and now catholic, I understand what she’s trying to say but I also think she’s missing the plot. Every church has a way of doing things. If you listen to a lot of Pentecostal pastors and you attend a catholic mass, you will need a lot of time to adjust. There’s a certain kind of solemnity that you get in Catholic Church that you can’t find elsewhere. Wanting your priest to preach like AJS is an error. A Christian understands that it is the whole service that blesses you and not just a part of the service. People have different gifts. Some might preach better than others but the goal of a sermon is not who teaches better but the quality of what you are being taught and how it impacts your life. We are in the era where pastors can’t preach if someone isn’t playing the keyboard in the background. So you see all these and wonder why your own Priest is dull or doesn’t preach with so much vim. I’m of the personal belief that you can’t get all you need for your Christian journey from a particular man of God. This also means that you are very much within your right to change church if you feel your current one doesn’t minister to you anymore. We need to look beyond the noise and ask ourselves what really matters when it comes to seeking the Lord. Once you figure this out, it will be your guiding light.
TENIOLA@Teeniiola

Coming back from church and I feel like my spirit was not fed today, honestly the gospel in catholic doesn’t cut it for me. Catholic priests should go for pastoral teachings to learn how to dissect the Bible inorder to satisfy their parishioners spiritually”— Catholic Lady bares her heart

Edafe you’re not new to this tradition and you and the entire police force are a disgrace for letting this go on for years. This same incident happened in 2013 during the Agbarha otor Rape marathon that lasted 7days. What did y’all do about that? How many people got convicted? Where was the law when 100s of men gang raped an 8-year-old child in the name of Ekene festival? Y’all failed to safeguard women and you should be hiding in shame
SP Bright Edafe@Brightgoldenboy

This is alarming, disgusting and embarrassing. The CP has ordered an investigation into the incident. The command condemns this in totality, no custom or tradition is superior to the rights of citizens. The Commissioner of Police Delta State CP Aina Adesola urges Deltans to remain calm while assuring that those responsible for this barbaric act will be arrested and brought to justice. The command also calls for witnesses who can provide with useful information that can aid the ongoing investigation.

TEA AND BREAD FOR UMU-ADA. Not all UMU-ADA in igboland sleeps over whenever their member is being buried...like my kindred UMUADA...they don't sleep over...they gather same day their member is being buried...do their funeral rites and go home and it pains me. My maternal home (ikwunne) UMU-ADA sleeps over whenever their member is being buried...My mum doesn't miss that sleeping over aspect..I asked her one day why do u people sleep over there? She said it's becos of "Obi-Nwanne".. Ịfụnanya anyị nweru ebe nwanne anyị nọ mere anyi bụ ụmụ ada ji anọkọ welu kwanyere ya úgwù ikpeazụ..After the burial, in those two days they will spend there..they will gather the children of the deceased...pray for them and give them "ndụmọdụ" on how they will be living together as one family now that their mother is gone....I so much love this about my maternal home UMU-ADA.....After that two days of staying with you (the deceased children) it is a MUST that you give them (umu-ada) some gift when they are about to leave... "LISTEN" the gift depends on the financial capability of that family. Sometimes my mum comes home with a box of matches... sometimes she comes home with few pieces of washing soap and bathing soap. sometimes she comes with wrapper...the biggest gift she brought home some years ago was a wrapper (george)..the deceased first daughter who lives in the USA brought it and shared it to them herself and nobody forced her..she did it willingly and happily...So you see umu-ada will never force you to do what your pocket can't afford......Now let me ask..How much is a carton of matches or carton of detergent? If you buy it and present it to them when they are about to leave and say this is what we can afford...and we are using it to say thank you for leaving your homes for two days to stay with us.. praying and advising us...We all appreciate you our mothers...And umu-ada will say the final prayers take their carton of matches or whatever that was given to them..share it among them and leave.... The tea and bread you give them every morning for the number of days they will stay is even how much? How much is tin of milk and Milo? How much is loaves of bread? You can't feed mothers that left their homes to come stay with you guys because you lost your mother or grand mother?...Do you think those mothers are hungry women? Some of their kids are millionaires and billionaires but you come on twitter to talk shit about umuada Igbo simply because you gave them tea and bread? Do you think they don't eat what is bigger than what you people even offered them? Or is it because you see them in your house paying the last respect to their member as tradition demands? Your late mother or grand mother did you know how many people's houses she has gone to drink this tea with her fellow umu-ada before she died or is it that some of you as just plain stupid or what? YOU want them to scrape this aspect of Igbo tradition because you're daft and stupid..Some of you that were born outside igboland and knows nothing about igbo tradition should shut the fuck up on this app and stop writing nonsense..Some of you have not even crossed Niger bridge since you were born in that city but will come on twitter to write nonsense upon nonsense.... Stop coming here to castigate and demonize our culture..if you don't know shit about our culture kindly shut up.... Everytime UMU-ADA this UMU-ADA that... Ndi-ara

Why is the Catholic Church very stringent? I understand the need for laws and obedience but we are dealing with human beings and when it’s coming from a heart that wants true salvation, why deny them? Conditionality choke o. Jesus Christ came for sinners

My younger brother and I was supposed to be received into the Catholic church together but he couldn’t find his baptismal card (we were both baptized in the Anglican church) The priest said he has to be baptized again, he refused and that was how he left me to convert alone 💔💔

Saw an Instagram reel about the loneliness a single person experiences when they go to Mass by themselves I know that feeling intimately Experienced it myself 2 years ago I prayed a prayer one Sunday asking God to give me a companion He answered the prayer but not in the way I intended After that Sunday, I kept running into people a few days before the following Mass who expressed interest in the Catholic faith So for 2 months, 8 Sundays back to back, I invited a friend or a stranger I had just met to join me for Mass God has a funny sense of humor
