@Awk20000 the US constitution and you'll see that almost all of them choose to change jus soli to jus sanguinis as the criteria. That tells you something. Scrap trying to guess Jefferson's intentions and just ignore constitutionalists.(2/2)

@Awk20000 "What would Jefferson do today" isn't a good argument for a few reasons. 1. You're not going to convince a constitutionalist of that. 2. The argument opens to the door for open interpretations of 2A etc. A better argument is to look at other countries heavily inspired by (1/2)

.@hasanthehun is back from a humanitarian mission to Cuba amidst an oil blockade & power outages. "It was very sad...everything was pitch black...and then I was very angry." I ask about critics who say he's helping a repressive regime? "I just don't want babies to die. I don't want people to suffer...how Cubans govern themselves is up to the Cuban people." @yoo_evan31413 @TuttReal No, he's far left even if you look at it from a worldwide perspective. I'm in Norway btw, one of the more left-leaning countries. Other than his views on taxes, there is nothing in common between Hasan and socdem ideology. He's at best a socialist, at worst a communist.

CNN calling Hasan ‘far left’ is schizo. It’s like when Chris Matthews said Bernie would chop off heads in Central Park. Hasan is actually a highly conciliatory social democrat. I see him as moderate. The entire spectrum is wrong and disingenuous.

@UkeCreature @ItsRiverShane @bookbeduion @RichardArbuste @grok So while I can agree that 8 years is too long of a wait for any medical service, the actions of activists tell me that they're not gonna be happy with anything. All my interactions with them have been exactly like talking to religious zealots. It's their way or the highway.

@UkeCreature @ItsRiverShane @bookbeduion @RichardArbuste @grok Then again, compare that to how minors were fast-tracked at the Tavistock clinic. 2 sessions with a clinician and you got your HRT and whatnot. Activists at the time were outraged. Not by the medical negligence, but because the process was "too long" and "restrictive"...

@CantEverDie If you don't watch and support it, you're funding the destruction of women's rights across the world, the forced medicalization and sterilization of children, left-extremist postmodernist worldviews which are as genocidal as nazism and you're prob a pedophile to boot. Hyperbole?

Her name is Noelia Castillo and tomorrow she will be the first person to receive euthanasia for depression in Spain. She was living in a supervised center with unaccompanied minors when she was gang raped by them. Afterwards, she tried to unalive herself by jumping from a fifth floor. But she became paraplegic instead. She’s 25 years old and today is her last day alive. Praying she can feel Jesus love before tomorrow and changes her mind. 🙏🏻

@Oleolesbica @RealNavHours Reacting to MSG2 with horror is having an opinion. Why is it mostly leftists who want their vtubers to be political? Be glad your vtuber isn't aware of postmodernist philosophy. Understanding the AI's ideology is far more horrific than just knowing its plan.

I love Mint, but what she does is how i view every American One of the most important tapes that talks about Kaz, ideals and why he does what he does, She reads the title being about Che Guevara and says "why should we care?" That alone explained to me everything about americans

@sleepy_devo WPATH and other activist groups claimed for years that the treatment was "safe and necessary" without any substance to that claim. So I see no reason why any ethical and competent doctor would put their patient on these drugs today. That could change in the future. 2/2

@sleepy_devo The issue as of now, and which is why different research teams funded by health care systems around the world is attempting to do clinical trials, is that the existing research data on HRT is garbage. 1/2

i'm actually ok with under 18s going on hormones if they're strictly supervised by a not-ideologically-captured doctor who recognizes that there is actually a rare but genuine need for them. i'm not ok with the total destruction of gatekeeping the trans activists want.

@GayPornCEO @XavierBleck @sleepy_devo @nyaraVT Dev doesn't. He's repeatedly said he doesn't support transitions for under-18s.

@bubblebaathist @sleepy_devo I think it becomes a bit of a language game, because obviously "male" and "female" are used to describe both an aspect of gender and of sex. But I see gender as separate from sex. And I thought part of transpeople's fight was to secure that distinction.

@bubblebaathist @sleepy_devo I believe I have. A MtF transperson asking to access female-only spaces is asking for extraordinary privileges. The argument being that the right to access such spaces is not determined by a person's gender (identity), but their sex.

the problem with nyara, is that she views the right-winger who says "i want you detransed and forced in the closet because you're a child rapist", and the normal person who says "i generally support your right to live your life but i think you're wrong on this", as the same thing

@bubblebaathist @sleepy_devo Defend what? The bathroom scenario? I can defend that. The same way I would say it's unacceptable for an adult to ask for a spot in a kindergarten, I would say it's unacceptable for a MtF transperson to ask for access to a female-only bathroom.

@bubblebaathist @sleepy_devo Not quite. I said that while rights themselves are constructs, they often make reference to, and depend on, biological facts of nature. I then gave an example of how the age of a person is tied to the rights given them.

@phrozend @sleepy_devo I'm glad we can agree that rights are constructed socially and not biologically. In what way are equal rights an extraordinary privilege? Why is being allowed to use a restroom an extraordinary privilege?

@bubblebaathist @sleepy_devo (And even long before biology was understood at all, society still differentiated between the rights of the 9yo and the 18yo. Because while we didn't understand the hows and whys, we were still able to observe the effects of the biology)

@bubblebaathist @sleepy_devo Take age. Most societies differentiate between rights given to a 9yo vs an 18yo. But age is rather abstract. It’s not tied to a location of a body. There is, however, a recognition that age is the outcome of bio process like genes, epigenetics, endocrine sys and brain dev. 2/2
