@TomSteyer You had me at breakup IOUs, but you lost me pretty much everywhere else. Same old rhetoric to inflame. BTW, how did you make your money, by crashing currencies/economies in Eastern Europe with your hedge fund?

2023. The "First Partner" of California is asked if she will call herself "First Partner" if her husband Gavin becomes President. Ready for her crazy eyes in the White House? BTW, watch how this self-proclaimed "defender of women" passively disses Melania.

@TomSteyer Not just that @TomSteyer, look at how well SMUD operates a public utility. That is the real reason to end the private ones.

Because Californians have no other choice for their electricity, executives can reward themselves with massive payouts even when their outdated infrastructure fails and causes tragedies. It's time to break up these monopolies. latimes.com/business/story…

Gavin Newsom once again brings up Paradise, Grizzly Flats, and Greenville as examples of California communities destroyed by climate change. In reality Grizzly Flats fire was started by arson. The Paradise and Greenville fires were started by Gavin’s campaign donor PG&E.

@CalNatResources That’s pretty cool. Perhaps you should have gotten out ahead of this. Even here, explain to me in 15 seconds what is so ambitious?

Just last year, California completed four wildlife crossings with an average price tag of $16 million – and 37 more are in progress across the state at an average cost of $15 million. The Annenberg Wildlife Crossing is the most ambitious project of its kind in the world with a much larger scale – it does not represent the average cost of our work to build more wildlife connectivity.
Benji Backer@BenjiBacker

Colorado built this wildlife overpass last year for $15 million. It’ll pay for itself within five years from the avoided collisions. California spending $114 million on a failed wildlife overpass is absurd.

90% chance of boots 👢 on the ground in the next few weeks to a month. But if it's in Kharg Island it doesn't really count. Why? It's not in a city with hundreds of thousands of people. It's just a 5 mile island and much easier to control. Nothing like the Quagmire's of Bush 1 & 2, and Obama. Or even the war that incompetent Biden got us in with Russia and Ukraine. Trump is smarter and has a team that can execute and make wise decisions. Recent success isn't just luck. It's calculated risk and an innate ingenuity like I've never seen out of any president. Boots on the ground doesn't mean what it used too.

Jake DeWitte called me with an idea that most people thought was crazy. He wanted to build small fission nuclear power plants. For more than 40 years, the mantra “no nukes” permeated the zeitgeist, and half the people protesting were protesting nuclear war. Jake said he could build a portable nuclear power plant. That could power a small city, be placed anywhere, and even transported. My nuclear physicist friend told me the timeline: "Five years to design. Five years for approval. Five more to build" 15 years. Minimum. I invested anyway. I had faith in Jake that if anyone could get a nuclear power plant built in the US, Jake could. Jake had the energy and drive to actually pull this off. Most entrepreneurs would've given up after hearing that timeline. He doubled down. Fast forward to today: Oklo became the first nuclear power company to get US approval in 40 years. Jake took the company public via SPAC. The Aurora reactor (their flagship model) is a 1.5-megawatt beast that runs for years without refueling. Uses spent nuclear fuel. Cuts waste and environmental impact. Perfect for remote areas and small grids. Oklo today is worth more than $10 billion. Nuclear energy can reduce the carbon emissions damaging Earth. Oklo will be the company that makes it happen.

@US_OGA You guys should run the GHG emissions on importing oil from across the globe vs. pumping and refining it in California. Compare the multiplier of jobs created in CA. How many people rely on petroleum to drive in California? Snarky jokes are fun, but bring the goods, too.

.@jonstewart is right — being governor of California isn’t easy. I jumped in this race a few weeks back precisely because “undecided” was winning. No one in the race had managed to capture the imagination, the trust, and the support of the people because no one was talking about how they would fix the problems affecting us every day. It’s still early, but as we’ve shared our message across the state — in Altadena, Imperial Beach, Watsonville, Sacramento, San Diego and so many other communities — we’re finding so many people who agree: government needs to do better before asking hardworking people to pay more.

WSJ: Tesla Finally Has Its First Semi-Truck and It’s Already a Hit With Truckers. "Truckers who drove it in pilot tests say they loved features including a centered driving position, faster charging and longer range for about $100,000 less than other battery-electric trucks. Angel Rodriguez, a 56-year-old truck driver for Hight Logistics in Long Beach, Calif., recently swapped out a 13-gear diesel truck for a Tesla Semi, which is automatic, for a one-month pilot test. “It’s just easier on your body. It’s less stressful because you’re not really having to engage the clutch and the stick shift.” Big F Transport employs five mechanics to service more than 40 diesel-powered rigs and a fleet of trailer chassis in Wilmington, Calif. “If we go all EV we will only need one [mechanic] to service chassis,” said Geovanny Melendez, the carrier’s VP of operations, who went to see the Semi earlier this month at a ride-and-drive event near the Port of Long Beach. Jennie Abarca, co-founder and CEO of King Fio Trucking in Long Beach, Calif., once worked as a truck dispatcher and her husband is a truck driver, so she knows all too well the toll a diesel engine takes on people’s lungs and hearing. She eventually wants to swap out King Fio’s 27 diesel trucks to create an all-electric fleet. King Fio already has 11 battery-electric trucks from Volvo and Nikola. But the company limits those trucks to shorter trips to and from local ports because they only have a range of about 225 miles. The Semi, by contrast, can travel 500 miles on a single charge, according to Tesla. For King Fio that means two or three round-trips a day from Long Beach to warehouses in the nearby Inland Empire or a single round-trip to Las Vegas. She has 20 Semis on order. “The Teslas change everything,” Abarca said. “It opens up a whole different type of delivery that I can make.”

🚨 HOLY CRAP. Nick Shirley DECIMATES Gavin Newsom 🔥 “The governor of California is an ENEMY to the people of California. He’s literally working to support the fraudsters!” “He COULD be working to expose the fraud.” “How STUPID do you have to be to say ‘let’s go after the guy exposing the fraud, let’s not go after the fraudsters?’” “That is what he’s doing. Why don’t you say ‘Hey Nick, great video - how can we help?’” “These tax dollars don’t say right or left on them, Republican or Democrat. Each tax dollar is a dollar for the American people.” “And when they go and steal these dollars from us, they are not robbing liberals or Democrats, they are robbing everyone.” “Then the governor gets mad at the person exposing the fraud? How crazy do you have to be to think that logic?!” @nickshirleyy Mic drop. H/t @TVNewsNow
