Ghostty is leaving GitHub. I'm GitHub user 1299, joined Feb 2008. I've visited GitHub almost every single day for over 18 years. It's never been a question for me where I'd put my projects: always GitHub. I'm super sad to say this, but its time to go. mitchellh.com/writing/ghostt…

@zuess05 simple its atoms + electrons. Come change some sparkplugs on my 2012 nissan frontier and tell me how AI will magically do it. But AI build my parts list at O O O Reilly's Auto Parts and kept me focused on next step, knew every torque spec.... again its simple.

Serious question.
For decades, the standard advice was to "pick a niche" and become a highly paid specialist.
Now Claude has the combined knowledge of every specialist on earth, instantly available for $20 a month.
What exactly are we supposed to tell kids to major in when every technical skill is just a prompt away?

@wesbos ITs not another dash/leader board. Its local and its in my safe at home that only I can access.

It's honestly impressive that GitHub kept the service up at all, given this kind of growth.
I predicted this years ago: Free services will become untenable with the advent of human-level bots.
Worth exploring micro-payments: Even cents per git push might be enough to reduce spam and make this sustainable. Maybe powered by Bitcoin to keep this open and accessible (as opposed to KYCing users).

Shopify devs and store builders... do you still use the GraphiQL app? What's useful about it?
Not the GraphiQL that you use from `shopify app dev`, but the one you install on a shop:
shopify-graphiql-app.shopifycloud.com
Is it still useful now that we have `shopify store execute` in our CLI?

As a vibecoder you don’t get too far.
A vibecoder just starts coding , doesn’t care about security or scaling or running costs.
He just enjoys using AI to build this app
The dream is to get the app to production and start having paying users
Sadly it’s just a dream.
Nobody tells him the app will be a fiasco if he even launches.

@emm0sh no balls let it rip on a karpathy loop to simplify. Is there git for parts? Asking for a friend.😀

@Seanfrank IMO running a warehouse has been the greatest thrill of my life. I'm still waiting for the sudden impact with the ground, but the way up has been fun.

More AI-powered CAD. This seems to be a growing (and much needed!) trend...
