I remember on that list of “lies” WaPo made, was Trump saying 1/3 of migrant women were raped during the trip across the border but the “real” number was 32.56% so they rated it as a lie. I thought that would be the most ridiculous “fact check” of Trump ever, but him getting shot on live TV with a picture of the bullet wizzing by his head and they still call him a liar is really in its own class of TDS.

The world of package managers has made it easy to get code you need asap. But there is a massive trade off in additional maintenance burden and also makes you beholden to someone else’s project.
Any decision to pull a package in needs a strongly analyzed decision. Sometimes it better to go custom or even just duplicate specific code. Less is more.

one thing that chatGPT has changed is my reliance on one off packages. I simply don't need to install packages anymore - a lot of package installing functioned only as avoidance of writing code, but given that the cost of writing code has crashed I might as well just DIY!
