@SLinkTechInc @swannoise To be clear, the cards in question allow you to exile any number, including less than the maximum possible amount. Notably though, all Magic cards that involve search effects have a "fail to find" rule where you can choose to find nothing. Yu-Gi-Oh used to have this rule as well

@pilft @swannoise This might be the craziest one I've heard yet. In yugioh, that wouldn't even be considered bluffing or misrepresenting the gamestate. That's just straight cheating. You're intentionally resolving a card wrong so that it's in your favor.

Every time this comes up the replies always devolve to shitting on yugioh players for having a different baseline of play conduct and it gets so tiring after the sixth or seventh time
Lesbian Rod Serling 🇵🇸🇺🇦🇮🇷@LRSerling

Juat found out that in competitive irl yugioh bluffing is illegal?? A player got a 6 month tournament ban for putting tokens off to the side that his deck doesnt actually use in order to trick opponents into believing hes running different cards than he was

@pilft @swannoise So you can just lie for surgical extraction and if your opponent decides not to look through the whole deck, you can just get away with that?

@OomfOfAnOomf @swannoise You can lie about private information zones in Magic. No exceptions for when contents of a private information zone are revealed; so you continue to lie even as they search your deck. The only thing you can't do is impact their ability to determine this information themselves.

@PeterJAngel Slavery was to the South more than an economic system, it was fundamental to the self perception of the white majority. The Jim Crow era is a clear indication of this. Perhaps after many decades abolition could win a peaceful victory, but that's far worse than a civil war.

@pilft I'm not sure this is true. Most countries that had slavery got rid of it without civil wars. Mexico, Britain, and Brazil are all arguably examples of this.

@PeterJAngel There would be no end to the inhumanity of slavery without great shedding of blood. It was necessary and John Brown was instrumental in showing that to the nation.

@PeterJAngel He heightened the tensions between the North and the South. Slavery advocates were more paranoid that North would take their slaves and the abolitionists had a martyr. He helped bring about the civil war. He should be remembered as a hero for that great service to humanity.

Insane, "the Chinese" have an evil playbook where they make a better product than we do, that should be illegal! "They could remotely control your car from Beijing" yeah and Elon Musk could remotely pilot a Tesla from Little Saint James. Do you trust Musk more than the CCP?
Sen. Elissa Slotkin@SenatorSlotkin

The Chinese Communist Party has an economic playbook: They often reverse-engineer a product, like cars, deeply subsidize it, flood markets to undercut all their competitors and drive them out of business. That playbook is why I am working to ban Chinese vehicles in the U.S. I joined the @DetroitChamber / @MichAuto to talk about this threat to national and economic security.

The doormaker was an interesting boss, he punished combo decks extremely hard but against more generalist decks he wasn't that bad. The new boss in my experience is super easy; tbf I was doing a status build against him with one of the 2 decks but still.

@LagSpike776 You understand that magic introducing a rotating format and making it the primary way to play the game 2 years into the game is drastically different than trying to add a rotating format as a side format 25 years into a game

@pilft I mean if you're talking about profit incentives then yeah Konami would have to like put some effort in it to make people actually play it. If only there was another game that also started with a non-rotating format that also eventually made a rotating format and was successful.

idk why mtg players are so insistent that yugioh could be "fixed" by bringing in rotation or a summon limit??? the game is fine its absolutely insane and we like it that way!!!! stop trying to make yugioh less yugioh!!!
