Talk of colonizing the moon reminds me of a conspiracy theory I heard John Lear explain on the Art Bell show.
He said NASA stopped going to the moon because the original astronauts saw alien structures there. The aliens then informed us we were not welcome, and not to come back. The structures included machines that recycled our souls. Human beings are actually just "containers" for souls, and when we die, they shuffle off to the moon, and are then recycled - basically we are reincarnated for as long as the aliens want to keep this experiment going.
So if we start going back to the moon, maybe we can figure out once and for all if John Lear had all this right.
@Linahuaa Tweets preforming poorly don't get shown, regardless of follower count. Obvious why.
Think of engagement rate as basically deciding how high up the feed you will be. Banger tweets will lead.
I'm happy this guy doesn't get to hog attention. His tweets are all ai autoposts.
2.7m follower account got totally nuked by the new algorithm -> 90 likes after 6h
I also got lower engagement.
But I'm not blaming Nikita, he's just doing what he was told to do.
I'm also not blaming Elon.
He said he wanted to boost smaller accounts, and the attention-market is zero-sum, so yeah- someone's gotta donate their reach.
Elon is of course just doing what's best for Elon. Many small accounts getting a bit of clicks attracts more new users than e.g. Jordan Peterson hogging all the attention by whining for the 9000th time about the trans agenda being demonic.
Probably is better for AI training too- dunno. It is what it is.
Ages ago I read a meditation book. In it it had some contrarian advice that I tried out and which turned out to be one of the simplest, but most useful, things I got from any book, ever. I’ve been trying to find the book ever since, to share it, with no success.
Fast forward a few months.
I was at a dinner with ‘Dharma Friends’. The person hosting had just moved in or was going to move out, I’m not sure. But, because of that, they were doing a giveaway. I saw a book. Could it be? It was. Read carefully:
@pilipovicB@BasedBiohacker Good for u. Now try a week without nicotine and see your erection. Everytime my gf touch my hand she always said im cold. After quit nicotine completely my hand become warm again. I think my blood flow was normal again. Now i use moda and water for work
nicotine is one of our GREATEST gifts. only peasant minds condemn it
and considering western civilization was built by chronic smokers... it's still the move and always will be.
and smoked tobacco remains the top choice due to its superior MAO inhibiting effects.
best used and not abused
but i love it so much i can't help but abuse it (about a can of zyns a day)
and i still get all the cognitive benefits; higher focus, suppressed appetite (great for intermittent fasting), elevated attention, reduced inflammation.
the actual mechanism behind the cognitive benefits of nicotine are FASCINATING. let me explain one of them.
your brain is made of neurons that talk to each other through neurotransmitters
one of the most important neurotransmitters is acetylcholine
it's crucial for things like learning, memory, and paying attention (think alpha-gpc).
nicotine's shape is very similar to acetylcholine (ACh).
thanks to this, it fits well into the receptors meant for acetylcholine, specifically the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs).
imagine nicotine being a master key that can unlock doors all over your brain, normally just reserved for the ACh key.
when nicotine enters your brain and activates these receptors, MAGIC HAPPENS:
→ acetylcholine: by activating its receptors, nicotine makes the brain's own acetylcholine system more active, improving focus and attention.
→ dopamine: by elevating dopamine levels, it heightens pleasure, attention, and focus in your work.
→ norepinephrine: boosts alertness, enjoyment, and attention. it's part of your fight or flight system, but this minor boost makes you feel more awake and focused.
nicotine is quite literally firing cognitive shots in your favor.
one of the most basic nootropic stacks is nicotine + caffeine + l-theanine.
it won't put you in flow like fasoracetam or modafinil will, but it's a great part of your stack - and a great start.

A wild old legend about a massive, magnetic black mountain supposedly smack at the North Pole. Gerardus Mercator put it on his 1595 Arctic map – the first real North Pole map.
