Financing. The things Europe has had four years to coordinate and still cannot because Hungary sits in the room and nobody has figured out how to remove a hostile state from an alliance it is actively sabotaging. Four years. That is how long the EU has been pissed on by Orban and responded by scheduling another meeting. And now Zelensky is cutting deals with Gulf states based on shared drone warfare expertise. Ukraine teaches them how to survive modern aerial attack. They help fund Ukraine’s defense. A clean bilateral arrangement that bypasses the entire European bureaucratic apparatus completely. If that deal gets done, it is the single most embarrassing indictment of EU foreign policy in the institution’s history. Not because Ukraine found partners elsewhere. Because it had to. Europe built a system so paralyzed by its own consensus rules that a single pro-Kremlin government in Budapest can hold 400 million people hostage for four years while a democracy bleeds out on the continent’s eastern border. @Microinteracti1 This is very interesting to me as a 🇳🇿. We also were somewhat screwed over by the EU in the 1980s. Left to fend for ourselves economically. It was painful - and forced a reset - never again would eggs only be in one basket. And we do a lot of business with the Middle East.

For those who don’t know, I’ve been pretty ill over the past week, but I’m now on the mend. I’ve always had a mild allergy to horses, nothing more than hay fever symptoms—something I could usually just push through. Unfortunately, it’s worsened without me realising, and this time it triggered a much more serious reaction, which then led to an infection. That left me completely bedridden for the best part of a week. Being around my family’s horses likely set the whole thing off. I’m over the worst of it now, just dealing with a rasping cough, but back on my feet and getting back to work🙏

Eight EU countries are calling for a ban on entry into the Schengen Area for russians who took part in the russian genocidal war against Ukraine. These countries are Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Germany, and Romania. To be honest, I shocked that this is even a question. Not only russian war criminals, but all russian citizens should be banned from traveling to Europe, except for genuine asylum seekers. Here is why: First, according to multiple surveys, the vast majority of russians support the genocidal war against Ukraine. They are not “innocent.” Even those who claim not to support it remain silent — and silence in the face of evil is not innocence. Second, russian “tourists” pose a legitimate security risk to the EU. The number of sabotage attempts against European infrastructure has risen exponentially over the past three years. And what else has increased exponentially in that same period? The number of russian tourists traveling to European countries. Third, it is deeply inhumane toward Ukrainians who, after fleeing the war, find themselves attacked or even killed by russians in Europe. There are dozens of documented cases of murder, rape, and kidnapping of Ukrainian women and children by so-called “russian tourists.” Finally, legitimate asylum seekers can still be admitted without a visa. But those russians who truly wanted to flee russia have already done so.

This is due to the actions of internal Eurosceptic forces, which he believes are working for external actors, including Russia, the American MAGA movement, and the European right wing led by Orbán. In particular, the Confederation factions and the majority of the Law and Justice (PiS) party are effectively pushing Poland toward a break with Brussels. The situation worsened after President Karol Nawrocki blocked a law on obtaining €43.7 billion in defense loans from the EU, jeopardizing the financing of the army, whose expenditures are supposed to reach 5% of GDP.
