Core PCE goods prices are rising at the fastest pace since 2022, up 2.8% over the 12 months ended March and 3.6% using a 6-month annualized rate. Prices were +0.21% in March (1-month annualized rate 2.6%) In March 2025, 12-month core PCE goods prices were flat (-0.04%).

UPDATE: A 40-year-old man charged over this life-threatening stabbing last night was ON BAIL at the time.
He's since been charged, and remanded to face court today.

Police have arrested a man following a stabbing in Yarra Junction last night. A 38-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital, where he remains. The offender fled the scene prior to police arrival. A 40-year-old Yarra Junction man was later arrested in Yarra Junction Police believe the people involved are known to each other and no parties remain outstanding.

Takeoff delayed on my flight from Sydney to Melbourne due to congestion at Tullamarine. Captain said the preference was to wait on the tarmac at Sydney rather than burn fuel circling. This is the most sensible take on Aussie liquid fuels I have heard in last 24 hours.
