Not a huge All-Star week fan, but I love that Jordan Walker competed in & won the home run derby. It’s phenomenal for him, great for the St Louis Cardinals organization, & good if it gets the attention of some fans who, understandably, haven’t followed so closely in recent years.

The thing I loved most about the entire broadcast was Netflix giving Jordan Walker the time to talk and for his family to be with him. What a moment. As a dad, I may have gotten a little choked up. What an awesome family.

@SandyMac718 I’d be shocked if teams cared about OPS. It doesn’t evaluate anything specific. I get that it meant something 25 years ago, but adding two stats that tell you something and aren’t very related doesn’t do much. Batting average is obviously worse, but I can’t imagine a team using

blocked for saying OPS was a good stat 😭

@johnrabe @PrezChaimBloom Don’t disagree really about him specifically. A) it could be a trade. It could be internal. But they won’t be good enough for all internal positions when that time comes. B) I hope it’s more than 12 homers, especially since Winn may never get to 12 and CF may not.

@playingcatchpod @PrezChaimBloom Perhaps, but A). I doubt if it will be a free agent, and B) whether it is or not, it’s going to be someone who hits way more than 12 HR per year.

There’s a non-zero chance that Brendan Donovan is a free agent after next season and the Cardinals will still be in need of a 3B.

@EricCrossMLB I’m willing to do a similar trade in one of my leagues, but where these two teams are in standings matter a lot here. I’ve been in a rebuild and am still a year away from a top 3 finish, but I’m targeting teams that are sliding from competing.
