What day three picks would you like to see get added?
WR, LB, OT, DB
Maybe a TE? One that can block a decent level in the gun game.
They only have 4 picks unless they trade back
@dan_florie@ShowMeFB Exactly, and being 32 I doubt he'll ever be what he once was. Then there are the off the field problems. Deebo Samuel is still available and has no red flags.
@ShowMeFB I’m fine with what they’ve done and prioritized over WR so far. Perhaps had we kept the third rounder it might’ve happened there. Still wouldn’t mind if someone stood out ax a potential steal there still on the board. The thing with Hill is wil he even be able to play.
@TheJamesPatrick We do need a receiver for sure. Deebo Samuel is still available, he's a bit past his prime but can still contribute, and there are no red flags that I know of. I'm just not sure KC has much cap space left.
@plcjoanne Well we need a wide receiver and lost two good picks moving up to number 6. He’ll take a discount with incentives, so it might actually happen.
The Chiefs front office is making it very clear that they believe the offense will be fixed by health, new coaching + Kenneth Walker 👀
Completely passing on offense in the Top 100 isn’t something you do if you think you need a major talent upgrade. 📋
I know everyone (including me) wants the Chiefs to get some offensive help after the team used their first 3 draft picks on defense. However, I would not be opposed at all if the Chiefs took Tennessee CB Jermod McCoy with the 109th pick. I could actually see the Chiefs strongly considering him. The upside is worth the risk if you draft him in the 4th round.
@bluebirdmyna@PatrickMahomes Something will have to be done after 2026. His cap hit is 85 mil. If they go 6-11 or even 8-9 something big happen next offseason. One way or another.
If the 2026 KC offence is trash without @PatrickMahomes at QB, and only passable with him, he has to seriously consider his options outside KC.
No head coach has had a more suspect reputation for game management and WR development than so-called genius offensive mind, Andy Reid.
@lja_14@Arrowhead_Adam I wish I could share your optimism, but I don't see any WR left now to make a difference. That's why at this point I hope they go LB and Safety. The draft was much deeper at least for LB, and unfortunately we lost Leo.
@Arrowhead_Adam@plcjoanne The common theme with all 4 of those guys was they were 1st or 2nd round picks though. Let’s hope they pull off a miracle tomorrow and somehow find a legit receiver or tight end that can help Mahomes this season.
Seems obvious that the Chiefs are shifting towards the league meta of running the ball and winning with defense instead of trying to fight the current.
@Arrowhead_Adam@plcjoanne That’s possible. But how would we know because the coaching staff doesn’t want to play rookie receivers. It took Worthy and Rice half the season before they could get in the mix. They’d rather have Watson, Juju or Skyy out there not getting open or dropping the ball than a rook.
I know we already took Mansoor Delane and Jermod McCoy might need surgery…
But at what point do you go get him? 🤔
That’s a 1st-round caliber CB falling into the late 3rd, maybe even the 4th 👀
If he’s still there at 109, are you mad if the Chiefs take him? 🤔
@Arrowhead_Adam@lja_14 This draft is thin on that position though. The likely starters are all gone. We shall see though. They might go Safety or LB tomorrow.
@plcjoanne@Arrowhead_Adam This is true. Almost like we should’ve used a high first round pick to get one of the 3 potentially stud receivers in the draft instead of hoping to replace the CB you just traded away if you’re lucky.
@lja_14@Arrowhead_Adam Well yes, there's that, but also, this draft was thin on really good WR. The good ones are long gone from the board. So with those two things, anyone they might get tomorrow will never be on the field.
@plcjoanne@Arrowhead_Adam Ya any receiver from this point on will never touch the field next season because they have to “learn the playbook” of RPOs and screens for a year before they can play.
@lja_14@Arrowhead_Adam 15 is never going to get a really good WR. Any one they might draft tomorrow probably won't make the final roster. Seems they thought signing Ken was the only help he needed.
@bluebirdmyna That's right. Rashee is a decent player, but then there's a big drop. He has character issues that weren't apparent at draft time, but obvious now. The only way they get a good WR is by trade, but doubt they have the money now. There will be a lot of pressure on Ken as he's it.
that is no kind of logic at all. there will never be a point where the team needs only WRs and can focus on that position. the team has no ability to recognize receiving talent in early, middle or late rounds, so sure, there's no point. x.com/plcjoanne/stat…
