As people celebrate 4/20, let’s be honest about the contradiction: In many states, marijuana is legal. In too many lives, the consequences are still permanent. People are still carrying records. Still locked out of jobs, housing, and opportunity - for doing what is now sold legally in storefronts. That’s not justice. That’s hypocrisy. State laws have changed, federal law hasn’t. And thus: Small businesses are squeezed. Research is restricted. A growing industry is taxed and regulated in some places - generating real revenue - while the communities most harmed by prohibition are still waiting to be restored. We should be building a fair, well-regulated national framework that de-schedules, taxes responsibly, expands research, and reinvests in the very communities that paid the highest price. Progress has been made - because people fought for it. But we are not done. 4/20 shouldn’t just be a celebration. It should be a call to action. Expunge records. End the disparities. Empower small businesses Pass comprehensive federal reform.

Unless there’s some secret negotiation, invisible to the public, for what it’s worth POSTPONE the cease-fire deadline. It is way too close to make any kind of deal. Extend the cease-fire a couple weeks. No one will be worse off and it might prevent a larger war.
