@Ernest1588761 Get out and do something for your own people and stop blaming the God you don't believe in and mock every day.
English

@sylevus @_Ochiedike Yes, if you want your child to learn something of course you would; "you told a lie" doesn't teach them anything.
You can't prove God is made up, thought we at least got this far?
I said I'm convinced creation is the best option between a supernatural event and "idk" logically.
English

If your kid makes up a lie, do you have to explain reality to call them on the lie? If our ancestors made up a singular god and told the lie it created everything, how is that any different. You are stuck on the script of creation is explained, while not showing any understanding that if its a fictional explanation.. nothing is explained by it, and the skeptic is not at any fault for not offering a comparable made up explanation, or accurate one.
English

@sylevus @_Ochiedike You make excuses that what you believe (naturalism/science) can't explain itself before it inevitably fails to make sense at all?
In other words everything you believe can be explained naturally...until it can't.
The claim is origin by divine purpose makes more sense than "idk".
English

So given neither of us have a time machine, I am kind of stuck doing that to your satisfaction. Since we can't investigate that, it is a bad faith test you are offering up. Because anyone making up one god can assert it made thins up as an origin explanation, even though you have not demonstrated a god exists. We are discussing if a god exists, not what it could do if it existed.
English

@hookskat How everything is designed/created (supernatural) can certainly coexist with How God planned that everything could change over time (naturally occurring).
English

When the only evidence you will accept is the supernatural…. This isn't saying much.
Divinely Designed@DivinelyDesined
There is overwhelming evidence that the Theory of Evolution is false.
English

@sylevus @_Ochiedike Uh...you could prove my "story" is made up by proving origin and intelligent life isn't supernatural...and you rightly acknowledge that you can't do that with any physical/natural evidence.
I find it disingenuous to assert that the beginning of all things "means nothing"?
English

@pmac4jesus @_Ochiedike How is that a fair challenge? If your story is made up, that does not mean humanity is in any position to answer that question. It is a red herring you guys put up as if it means anything.
English

@Maximumatheist Is this all it takes to "farm" these days? 🙄
English

Is education illegal if you are a Christian?
Divinely Designed@DivinelyDesined
There is overwhelming evidence that the Theory of Evolution is false.
English

@Ernest1588761 All you want is a hand out...not a way up.
English

@sylevus @_Ochiedike Ok...but the atheist/agnostic can't experientially demonstrate the beginning of all things for instance right?
Just as you would rightly claim i rely primarily on faith to believe the best answer is a supernatural one...you have to do the same to assume another option.
English

@pmac4jesus @_Ochiedike As can experiences based on asserting claims without any way to validate them. My "confirmation bias" is at least based on demonstrable experiences. People DO make things up.
English

@hookskat To be consistent what we believe about God should be relevant for both...putting all our proverbial eggs in one or the other proves only that we likely never put complete trust in God for either.
English

@pmac4jesus And for me…. My belief about an afterlife (or lack of) is irrelevant to this life.
English

@sylevus @_Ochiedike Fair enough...there is a distinction between the agnostic and hard atheist, not sure why this "horse" needs a death by 1000 cuts...
The burden of proof destroys it sufficiently.
"Flaws in the story" can just as easily come from a place of confirmation bias...I see symmetry.
English

@pmac4jesus @_Ochiedike Again, I am not responsible for them making overstatements. Best I can see us doing is showing flaws in the story and the world history that indicate humankind made up these stories. I can't demonstrate Bubba Jew did it in 6600 BCE.
English

@sylevus @_Ochiedike Otherwise let me ask this;
Do you believe people have an innate ability to recognize between right and wrong/ good and evil?
If so, is there a standard to base such belief or understanding on...or is it subjectionable?
English

First of all its not blindly trust. It is a logical conclusion based on a human history of observing theology. NEVER do you validate/falsify your claims. As I see it, there are three ways to correct a theological misunderstanding. Exterminate the idea. Assimilate the idea. Or take your ball and start your own denomination. Never do we validate the initial assertions themselves, meaning you are at risk of only validating the story you like. I can imagine a situation where we are both simultaneously right and wrong. Can you? If not, who are you calling blind?
English

@hookskat It does indeed come down to what one believes to be true.
English

@sylevus @_Ochiedike By definition any "god" imagined or real takes faith to believe in. Just because a humanist, for ex., can physically see another human doesn't mean the humanist doesn't in some sense "blindly" trust that mankind is the only logical existent entity to believe in.
English

And as far as faith goes, its apples and oranges. Just look at the political situation around the world today, scientology, various isms.. Ample evidence people make things up. Thousands of gods sincerely worshiped yet dismissed as mythology. No faith needed. As compared to pretending you have demonstrated anything supernatural... faith needed.
English

@sylevus @_Ochiedike No...by definition how you explain what you "believe" about the implausibility of God is different than what the atheist claims they claim is impossible.
English

@pmac4jesus @_Ochiedike Two things can be true. A hard atheist can make an impassioned emotional overstatement. And while technically right be overstating what he should say. And I can make my statement and not be accountable for the move some other atheist made. Right?
English

@Austin_Mathew_ Would be an interesting poll to see how many believers think the early church was jewish and not catholic. 😉
English

The verdict is in ⚖️
87% of voters say they have at least some understanding of the early church and the development of Christianity.
Through these studies, how many of you have changed a belief you held before starting them?
Austin Mathew@Austin_Mathew_
Be honest: Have you ever studied the development of Christianity from the early church to today?
English

@sylevus @_Ochiedike It's a belief? Sounds just like faith to me.
Hard atheists reject this "plausible certainty" position you pose. I was talking to one jaut yesterday that claims 100% certainty that there is no God...full stop.
English

People struggle with atheism because they pretend its 100% ANTI. It's not. It's a belief. A plausible certainty. But theists try to put us in a knowledge position, not a belief, and people are reluctant to take that step. Which they do not have to. I believe people made up stories. That does not mean there can't be anything supernatural. Just that I don't accept the claims as offered.
Given a history of mankind sincerely believing in thousands of gods... and none validating each other.. no.. I don't see a reason to pursue it
English

@Brotherhoodoft5 @HQmindd No different than the typical atheist who continues to impugn the character of God...they harden their own heart and bring God's judgement upon themselves.
English

@HQmindd Pharaoh hardened his heart first.
God merely took off his brakes.
English

@hookskat "No god"?
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
English

@sylevus @_Ochiedike Agnosticism is distinctly different than hard atheism. If you can at minimum state that there is a 1% chance God exists, you're agnostic.
Doesn't matter the %...you should pursue the remotest of possibility that God exists...too much at stake not to.
English

@pmac4jesus @_Ochiedike Agnostic to me is a useless term. I can claim to be agnostic all the way from 99% convinced there is a god to 99% there is not a god. Yet theists treat it as halfway to their side.
English
