@_petermason Historic England have refused the initial listing. Residents have appealed this and are therefore doing our bit to preserve the Borough's history. What are you doing with extreme urgency to protect the building?

@_petermason Peter,It's a shame it was at risk in the first place. It has been 3 years and still unresolved for the council to implement the Conservation area extension and locally list it. Had this been done none of this would have happened. Can you commit to review all other assets at risk?

The new video from the latest Project EALING Radio Frequency Directed Energy Weapon trials (first with Army personnel) shows one important thing that was not, by any means, a given: the system can be seen working and keeping aim on targets with the truck on the move.

@MikeyCycling @EdinburghPicker Yet you’ve defended cyclists using mobile phones whilst cycling before! So the resultant distraction doesn’t apply to them apparently!

@raiza_abubakar Great to see such progress to an already amazing tool. Any chance of customising the accents of the presenters in audio deep dive. Would be much more resonant for my uses with a British accent?

@SayeedaWarsi The prosecution in that trial was ill prepared and badly executed and that is the only reason it failed to find her guilty What she and you have done in using the ‘coconut’ slur is racist and had been found so in other courts. theguardian.com/uk/2010/jun/28…

In response to the numerous press requests A court of law found #MariehaHussain not guilty. Whatever Rishi Sunak and Suella Braverman think of that decision that is the rule of law and they are not above the law. I applaud the courts decision and judgement of Judge Vanessa Lloyd, the overwhelming evidence of multiple academics and other expert witnesses. It was the right decision and I rightly congratulated Marieha on her acquittal. I was subsequently asked to delete my public support for Marieha - I refused to do so. That is the basis of the complaint. No other comments or language is the basis of the complaint. The case was due to be conducted in private behind closed doors, I was not told who the complainant was and this is material considering the detail of bad faith practice the court heard about during the trial. I was also told I could not discuss the matter with others. It was effectively to be a secret retrial of the #coconuttrial I was not prepared to accept this. I felt it appropriate in the circumstances to resign my whip and look forward to dealing with these issues openly and transparently in the coming weeks and months

@nelsabbey For ‘Intra-communal’ read ‘racist’. Given that one characteristic of racism is ascribing to someone attributes based on their skin colour it’s amazing you are endorsing use of a racist term to people of colour because they don’t have the views you think they should have!

Barring a last minute outburst of sanity, in roughly two hours Marieha Hussain, a nine-months pregnant woman, will go on trial for making a political critique in the form of a satirical placard containing commonly used intra-communal humour. Welcome to Britain in 2024.

@nelsabbey @McGannSharpe Nah…it’s racist, that’s coming from a brown man! I also find it risible that the constant refrain one hears is that if someone of colour finds an insult racist it is racist and yet, here you are, a black man telling brown people what they should find racist or not!

@McGannSharpe Dude, it's not racist. It's political, it's satirical, it's intra-communal critique of political behaviour of literal politicians. Also, thanks to the huge power imbalance, the concept of "consistency" doesn't exist in racism. Educate yourself. mediadiversified.org/2018/10/11/in-…

@theashrb Nonsense, as a brown person, I can confirm it is racist! Those trying to justify it happen to be the same people that think brown people can only think one way or have one view! The very definition of racial bias.

P*ki is not comparable to “coconut” you just wanted to say the word. This is how stupid you end up looking when you refuse to mind your business. A coconut is something we call people within our own communities, it is not a slur.
Bridey@EarlBrideshead

@theashrb So you would be happy with one of you saying ‘Paki’ and people tweeting it saying “what’s the problem here, that’s what he is!”?
