This nicely explains how Olympic “photo finishes” are determined. It’s not how you probably imagined. Source: howtownvideos

@headinthebox Hi Erik, I came across your videos on YouTube and believe we have an opportunity that matches your skills: tie dye shirt making. Our factory will benefit from your great expertise and sense of fashion. Best regards, [#######]

@dvassallo I think they ran out the 255 product names they could create. They have to get rid of some to make room for others.

AWS is shutting down a bunch of services this year. AWS went through a period where it identified popular tools and released very mediocre alternatives in the hope they will get used by companies who have mandated employees to move everything they can to AWS. Looks like it's not working as they hoped. The private sector can only get fooled for so long.

@slicknet Weird. I did the same thing last year, and went in immediately to my Play settings and cancelled the subscription right away. I kept the benefits for the promised period, and was never charged when the period ended. Maybe they don't like you as much?

YouTube prompted me with “try Premium for two months for free,” so decided to go for it. Only, I didn’t get it and they just charged me the regular monthly rate. 🤷‍♂️ Thanks a lot.

@flyosity Then CrowdStrike deploys an update. Now you need to wait for SpaceX to launch a human to manually reboot the satellite.

I don’t understand why I have an M3 Max with 128 GB of RAM but every interaction in Apple Music feels like it’s making roundtrip network requests to a fucking satellite? How the fuck do we have computers a million times faster than before but nothing ever feels snappy??

This is an obvious copy of SpaceX and the Starship tower but this transition was so damn cool. It’s fun to joke about these being copies but it’s pretty crazy that these Chinese rockets will actually exist and are being fully pursued while other countries sit on the drawing board and complain about SpaceX

We recently completed New Glenn’s first stage test of its six landing legs—a key area for reusability, which lowers the cost of access to space. The landing gear stow inside the rocket during flight, deploying as the booster gently touches down on our landing vessel at sea.

@blueorigin Cool design! Unfortunately, a bunch of people with twitter accounts are pretty sure that the 11,000 engineers working at Blue don't know what they're doing, so it sounds like you'll have to change it :/

A recent post circulating from Andrew Huberman claims that low reps don’t build muscle and that high reps are necessary for muscle growth. However, this doesn’t align with the data I’ve studied. At the core of muscle building is the principle of overload and pushing your muscles close to failure. It’s often said you should leave about one rep “in the tank” — though this can be tricky to gauge. In my training routine, I start with warm-ups, then perform 1-2 intense sets before moving on. Each muscle group is worked 2-3 times per week. Now, consider this: can doing 12-20 half-hearted reps truly build more muscle than a few well-executed, heavy sets? The answer is clear—quality and intensity triumph over mere quantity. Support this page by shopping at @tigerfitnesscom !
