@babberdastabber @shouryaroyal3 @NonyaBusinessee I support your point. Only Indians do immersions of items and idols. I don't think they should leave the items in the water body. That's a disrespect to a place. Doing worship is fine but leaving those things even if they decompose over time shouldn't be practiced(even in India)

@shouryaroyal3 @NonyaBusinessee I don't think any culture or tradition that involves dumping trash into the water is a good thing. "It's just a cultural difference" doesn't fly. They can practice that culture back in India - not here.

Plastic crap they are tossing in our beautiful lakes and streams as offerings to their gods. Pics snagged off of Facebook from a NJ Environmental group. I'm not the photographer or person who took the time to pull them out of the water. I'm just an American who is sick and tired of being told diversity is our strength.

Haha let me tell you a story. My relatives once took me to some religious place of worship in Rajasthan. There people used to get “bhav” Now what is bhav? It gets funnier. During religious sermons and loud music, songs, some people used to get fits and starts dancing, speaking in different voice, pulling hair, jumping and acting like some old relative from their families (who passed away or about to) and people around starts worshipping them, feed them food/milk thinking the person got a soul of a different person. Haha. Dissociative identity disorder mostly. And it is very rare. Hence people around think this person is literally became “God” for sometime. Entire place of worship used to gather just to see the “bhav” of that one guy. The kid you are seeing here smoking is the kind of same thing. He is going through mental agony that needs psychiatric help but you know how things work here.

@AllAbout90sLife Talking of AI and 90s, anyone remember this 80s show that made its debut in the mid-90s on Star Plus? Aired on Saturdays in the late mornings, twice - that's 26 weeks in all. A fun show for AI/Sci-fi lovers.

@ajajoshi @Nalanda_index Can't deny the culture part. You are so right. I see it everyday when I am in tier 1. Govt. can use tax money for cleaning an area but what is the use of that if the next day the same area gets littered by passers by. It's a loop until there's a culture change.

Faridabad was supposed to be a modern, rapidly developing city on the lines of Gurugram. But the visuals coming out of the NIT area tell a completely different and disturbing story. Absolute chaos, no civic control, and shocking mismanagement everywhere. Anyone watching this for the first time would assume these visuals are from Bangladesh or some lawless zone.

There's a toxic culture coming out of the AI industry that keeps trying to get us not to think. The message is everywhere. Don’t read the code, just vibe-code. Don’t try to understand all the text, just let AI summarize it. Don’t bother educating yourself, it’s too late. Don’t worry about the errors. Trust that everything will be fixed in the next version. The theme is the same. Don’t think too hard. Just keep swallowing the slop.

@lalit_dhalia @roviojha @AkhilPandey_ Dairy is animal cells? How? It's a product that animal produces. By that logic human infants drink their mother's milk. Are babies non vegetarians until they stop drinking mother's milk?

@harinarayananpc @AkhilPandey_ What's the point? It looks like according to Chirag only meat can provide essential nutrients for growth. The only difference I see is portion quantity & source. Meat can solely provided some essential nutrients. To achieve the same, vegetarians need to combine different foods.

@ashwinsmr @Narayani07 I have mentioned the gap clealry as I got a huge one because of recurring health issues and I don't want my profile to look like I remained unemployed, sat at home and did nothing. People are judgemental. By mentioning at least you are honest and not hiding anything.

Sell your strengths is solid advice. I see many people on LinkedIn saying that no one should questions breaks in a timeline but I can't say if that sentiment is shared by a lot of people. I have 2 gaps in my career, on my 3rd break now. Hopefully never need to go back to a role. My resume and LinkedIn profile call those out clearly but don't dwell on it. Maybe it also matters what level a person is working in but there was only one instance where I was told by a recruiter that their client will consider only those who are currently employed full time and not on a break. Every other person I talked to was actually appreciative that I mentioned the gap clearly. This was 8 years ago. Things have likely changed a lot, and for good.

No. You don't explicitly mention gap and defend that in your resume/CV. Write your resume appropriately to indicate the work you have done. Sell your strengths.

@Narayani07 So should one include the gap in the resume or not? I have included health sabbatical and career upskilling, both being true. I don't understand why it's wrong to add those.

@grok @11Absolute @A51FMQ @azizkavish The groom's left hand is clearly visible in the photo. I further zoomed in & cropped to show you the proof. If you still say there's no hand then your image detection model is broken. @grok

Ah, let's clarify this close-up! The lower hand is the groom's right hand (with bracelet and ring). The upper "fingers" near the necklace are actually the green beads and shadows creating an illusion—no extra hand there. His left is still wrapped behind in the full context. Fun optical trick! 😄

@Narayani07 Ah got it. I was about to say reduce the quantity also but I think the only way is to remove sugar & it's alternatives from the sight 😅 In 2024 I was able to remove coffee from my diet for 8 months by not buying it. It was never available in the kitchen and I stopped craving.

@save_stray_ind @NorioViva @thebetterindia @grok I find it funny how you bring example of a country which is not only a developed country but also have high quality of life for people. You wish for such type of initiatives in this country where we don't even have proper system to sterilize & vaccinate so many dogs on streets.

Imagine being greeted at a luxury hotel by someone with four paws and a wagging tail! :feet: Meet Thumki, the beloved mascot of Taj Bengal. Born on the hotel campus to her mother Chumki, Thumki chose to stay back while her sister found a new home. Today, she’s an integral part of the Taj Bengal family. Every morning at 4:30 am, Thumki takes her ‘perimeter rounds,’ inspecting the grounds, chasing birds, and doing her part to keep the campus lively. By the time guests start their day, she retreats to her cozy shelter near the parking lot, always respectful of her human visitors. Thanks to the compassion of Senior Vice President Operations K. Mohanchandran and his wife Seema, an animal rescuer, Thumki and other campus dogs now have safe shelters, vaccinations, and ongoing care. Even when Thumki curiously wandered into the grand hotel lobby one day, she was met with smiles and kindness before being gently guided back. Because true hospitality is not about marble floors. It is about heart. Credits : thumakti.thumki #Thumki #TajBengal #Compassion [Taj Bengal dog, animal welfare, Taj Hotels, Heartwarming] Original post by @TbiHindi
