NHS England won't tell us how much migrants are costing the health service. They won't tell us how many illegal migrants are using the health service. People can see the pressure that immigration is putting on the NHS. You can't solve the problem by refusing to acknowledge it.

Two additional realities. -The surcharge must be paid even if the person rarely or never uses the NHS. -It is non-refundable if they stay healthy. So the conversation about NHS pressure should be evidence-based.
