Masoumeh Ebtekar - also known as "Screaming Mary" - was the spokeswoman for the Islamic terrorists who stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979 and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days - subjecting them to beatings, starvation, and mock executions.
In 2014, the Obama Administration granted visas to her son and his family to enter the United States. In June 2016, the Obama Administration gave them lawful permanent resident status via the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program.
This week, I terminated their lawful permanent resident status and today, Seyed Eissa Hashemi, Maryam Tahmasebi, and their son are now in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement pending their removal from our country.
Her family should never have been allowed to benefit from the extraordinary privilege of living in our country.
America can never become home for anti-American terrorists or their families - and under the Trump Administration, it never will.

Justice is supposed to be blind: equal for everyone and with no racial discounts.
Brent McCook shot his wife Rochelle Poole in the head while she slept in their truck after a 17 hour drinking binge. He was convicted of manslaughter. The Crown asked for 16 years. The judge gave him six years and nine months, leaving about two years after credit for time served. The reason? Gladue principles made his Indigenous heritage a significant mitigating factor.
Rochelle was Indigenous too: a mother of two in a struggling remote community. Giving her killer a lighter sentence because of his ancestry does not honour her life or protect other Indigenous women. It creates two tier justice based on race.

If Aboriginal title now beats Crown title…
What the hell is left of your fee-simple deed?
You pay the taxes. You get no voice.
The BC Supreme Court just ruled in Cowichan that sections 23 and 25 of the Land Title Act — the iron-clad protections that make your registered deed bulletproof, do not apply to Aboriginal title. Crown grants never extinguished it. Your ownership is now second place.
This isn’t reconciliation. This is the NDP selling out every homeowner in British Columbia.

The Cowichan want to replace the Crown as the land title owner for everything in their "unceded territory". They're not denying it. They simply say you won't be "displaced" when they take over your property.

The bloodthirsty regime in Iran is preparing to commit yet another unforgivable crime. Reports confirm that at least five sons of Iran who courageously took to the streets on January 8th and 9th—Mohammad Amin Biglari, Shahin Vahedparast Kolowr, Abolfazl Salehi Siavashani, Amirhossein Hatami, Ali Fahim, and potentially more—have been moved from their ward and transferred to an unknown location for likely execution. These young men are condemned not for anything they did, but because of what they represent. This regime’s sham courts do not seek justice, they seek to terrorize Iran into silence. They will fail. I call on @drmaisato and @UN_HRC and other international human rights institutions to urgently intervene to save the lives of these innocent young heroes.
