Glad to host @profndifon, President of the @AIMS_RIC, for a strategic engagement on strengthening mathematical sciences, AI, and computational research in Africa. We explored partnerships to build advanced skills, support young researchers, and enhance Africa’s scientific competitiveness. Mathematics remains the backbone of innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable development. Commended the efforts of @AIMS_Next in training next generation of thinkers in Africa. I commit to support setting up of AIMS in Kenya 🇰🇪 @ScienceRI_Kenya @NACOSTi @KeniaUpdates @nrfkenya #AIMS #Mathematics #STI #ArtificialIntelligence #Research #Innovation #DigitalTransformation #AfricaRising #CapacityBuilding #ScienceForDevelopment @_AfricanUnion @AASciences @TWASnews @aphrc @OfficePCS_KE @ScienceRI_Kenya

The researchers Lijie Chen (left), Igor Oliveira (top-right) and Jitau Li recently used “reverse mathematics” to connect a theorem called the pigeonhole principle to a whole class of complexity problems. quantamagazine.org/reverse-mathem…

“Cooperation only works when it is built on the right foundation. We are here to discuss partnerships; however, the term seems to mean different things to people. For some, it is about giving instructions and setting conditions; for others it means complying. Africa’s experience shows that this approach does not deliver the transformation that we need. A good partnership does not create dependency. It creates value. If you want to work with Africa, a true and lasting partnership must be equal, with shared risk and reward.” President Kagame | #GlobalGateway #GGF

In the field of harmonic analysis, there’s a constellation of questions about how the energy of a wave concentrates. A recent proof offers a surprising counterexample to one of these conjectures. quantamagazine.org/at-17-hannah-c…

@EFischberger @EylonALevy An organization like the UN, meant to promote peace, is siding with terrorists in places like Gaza and Goma. This requires serious investigation

The Trump Administration has determined UNRWA is irredeemably compromised and now seeks its full dismantlement. This is a good thing. Why? Because the supreme aim for the UN isn’t helping Gazans. It’s maintaining control over the humanitarian system that keeps it relevant, of the machinery that funds and justifies its existence.

America remains a powerful nation with incredible institutions and people. Yet an influential minority—mostly politicians and their enablers—seems determined to tear it down. The decline was already underway when I lived there, and it’s now accelerating. x.com/nuryvittachi/s…

"The American empire is over," Richard D. Wolff, U.S. professor of international affairs, tells Al Jazeera. Already the biggest economic power on the planet is not the US and its allies, but China and the BRICS. But no U.S. politician dares to tell the people: "It's over."

“There are those who have given up, resigned to the idea that Rwandans, and Africans, are destined to remain poor, divided, and forever waiting for someone to come and save us. I am not referring here to spiritual beliefs or divine salvation. I am talking about people, those whom we call “partners," who sit with us at the table and are expected to lift us out of our struggles. This “savior mentality” is one of the biggest problems we must uproot from our society. We must start with ourselves. With what we are capable of. And we must do it to the best of our ability, clearly knowing where we come from and where we want to go. Others can help, but that help only matters if you are already moving in the direction of your goals. They will not pick you up and carry you to where you want to be. In fact, they don’t even want to. And if you didn’t know, let me tell you now: they benefit from keeping you where you are.” President Kagame | Swearing-in of Cabinet Members and other Officials.

The @WeizmannScience is one of the world’s leading centers for research, a mecca for science and the source of so much of the light that has lit up our world. I pray that all who work there will survive the madness that has gripped the Middle East. x.com/yaireinhorn/st…

Heartbreaking! 💔 The Weizmann institute - Israel’s leading research institute and one of the top leading scientific research institutions in the world - was badly damaged by Iranian missiles last night. They won’t break us! I’m sure that @lab_oren will rebuild his lab! ❤️🇮🇱

This is groundbreaking stuff from Donald Trump. Let’s hope the US will follow his lead x.com/rnaudbertrand/…
Arnaud Bertrand@RnaudBertrand

I rarely praise Trump but this is a genuinely incredible speech x.com/Ultrafrog17/st… I've been arguing for close to a decade that the single biggest reason for the growing divide between the West and "the rest" was the West's inability to accept diversity (the genuine kind, not the fake ersatz of it sold to you under liberalism). Diversity of cultures, traditions, civilizations, governance systems, etc. Incredible, and kind of disturbing, that Trump is the first Western leader who seems to understand this and to criticize the West's missionary zeal to remake others in its image.
