As the media are not doing a 'fecking good job' on highlighting the fact that Michael Keegan (husband of Ed Sec Gillian Keegan) was CEO and Chair of Fujitsu UK. I thought I'd share that fact again!!! #GMB #BBCBreakfast #r4today

Possibly unpopular opinion, but I think Christmas lights should stay up all winter (except for like obvious Santa ones) cause it makes the gloomy days prettier and helps seasonal depression

Given Fujitsu's role in creating the deeply flawed Horizon computer system at the heart if the postmasters' scandal, it would be interesting to know if the British government is still awarding them contracts. If so, why?

These condemnations of Brexit on every metric are deadly - the reason why, along with a record of epic misgovernance, the country has made up its mind to ditch the Tories. Brexit has completely failed for UK, say clear majority of Britons – poll theguardian.com/politics/2023/…

In my view, one reason is that SAGE’s behavioural advisory group (SPI-B) had its communications remit taken away by CSA, Vallance. When set up in 2009 by me to manage H1N1 it included comms remit & was called SPI-B&C. Important that history is remembered & lessons learnt.

Can't help thinking public health messaging over the past few years has largely failed. Surging viruses and beyond stretched health systems. Massive short-term behaviour change has been followed by almost zero behaviour change maintenance. Missed opportunities. Why? ..

Of all the arguments against inheritance tax, the "it's a double tax" one seems most baffling. If a bit later I go and buy a coffee, I'll be paying VAT on a purchase financed by money already subject to income tax and NI. What's so special about IHT?

It is now obvious that Netanyahu's objective is his own political survival by means of extending the Gaza massacre ad infinitum. Any gvt that refuses to see this, and thus demand a UN Peace Keeping & Humanitarian Relief Operation in Gaza, is complicit. theguardian.com/world/2023/dec…

Osborne's austerity was a scam,& the UK came to a standstill.I drove across Europe regularly and saw roadworks, construction and infrastructure carried out. Since 2010 we've paid the same or more tax, where's it gone. It's certainly not on public services or the national debt. 🤷

I also say here we overtate the trade off between lockdowns and the economy. It's the trade off between lockdowns and social impacts - on children, especially those from poorer or struggling families - that really matter. That's where we/they will feel the long term costs.

Israel killed three Israeli hostages as they walked towards Israeli soldiers. The hostages were naturally unarmed Israel claims they mistook them for Hamas fighters. That is a lie. They mistook them for unarmed Palestinians, and killed them.
