The lift on firecracker ban in the choked, slowly dying city of Delhi, by (In)Justices Gavai and Chandran is an exposé in its own regard. It not only showcases the saffronisation of courts but also how judiciary has eroded and has been caught in a compromising position with the ruling party. The judges gave reasoning that it's better to have a lift in ban and regulate the sales of "green" crackers than to have them smuggled. First of all, a learned supreme court Judge is expected to know what green washing is and that there's not such thing as environmentally friendly pollutants. The very resourceful Indian public is already an expert in faking green crackers and putting false labels on regular crackers. They know no one is coming to check and the odd stray officer is more than happy to have his palms greased at the expense of your lungs. Secondly, by this order, the courts admitted that there is no longer any fear of contempt of court or violation of court orders if the executive fails to uphold the directive of the courts. This order screams loudly that the judiciary is a mere mouthpiece of the incumbent party and is not interested in upholding the citizens quality of life and right to clean air and water. The more pathetic part is that this order comes in the wake of pirali burning, which should be a thorn in the side of any sincere judiciary but it seems that the skin of judicature has grown thick. Despite all the huffing and puffing and deadlines given to governments, farmers are as blatantly violating Supreme Court orders as the kanwadiya dj trucks violate the NGT norms for noise pollution. The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) (be)headed by Chairman Sandeep Kumar and Member Secretary Sandeep Mishra, is known for their lax approach in enforcing any kind of rules and is a known mute spectator to the pillaging of air quality by politically motivated serial offenders. This kind of apathy can only happen where corruption is involved as clearly documented and showcased by Anti Corruption Branch numerous times in their reports. It is also clear that the Minister of Environment of Delhi, Manjinder Singh Sirsa and the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change of India, Bhupender Yadav are also sitting too stuffed to the brim to even comment on the pathetic state of pollution in the national capital, a state of global embarrassment that has been documented by global media, year after year. It has become clear that all Chief Justices will do anything for post retirement perks and will sacrifice the fundamental rights of citizens just to have a retirement plot in the hills. The previous CJI "DIY" Chandrachud who is the first nepo kid of judiciary, has clearly demonstrated and openly admitted to political motivation whilst delivering the most crucial judgement in recent times. Going by this order by Justice B. R. Gavai, it is abundantly clear that not every B. R. is Ambekar. Jai Hind 🇮🇳

In Vishwaguru it would really depend on the job. For a blue collar worker making 20-25K in a city he would need to save 80K for a new iPhone 17. even if he saves half of everything which he makes it will still take him at least 7-8 months to afford a new iPhone 17. Even white collar average salary would not be more than 40-50K a month so even he would need to save for at least 3-4 months.
Coinvo@Coinvo

WOW: 🇨🇭 In Switzerland, you only need 3 work days to buy an iPhone 17.

The reason is very simple. Indian upper class/elite have been using slave labor and basically paying exploitative super low wages for manufacturing and services for decades. And poor desperate people in the past were forced to work for cheap and be exploited because there was no other option and no government welfare (like free ration, ladli bahin yojana etc). Now these people have an option to say fuck off to offensively low wages. Give people a respectable, living wage, and then you will find more than enough people willing to work for it. You can't expect people to work for a monthly salary that an upper middle class family would spend in a day or two. That's exploitation.
Harnidh Kaur@harnidhish

I feel like every time I ask this question I’m cobbled with anti-poor allegations but why do so many able bodied men in India not work (assuming they do find work in manufacturing/services)? Almost everyone I know has a house help and they house help’s husband is a drunk who harasses her for money. On the other hand almost everyone I know in manufacturing and packaging is struggling with labour. They’re desperate to hire and no one comes, or if they do, they leave within a month. Again, I’m sure there’s a reason for it. I’m just trying to understand what it is.

Bhadwa of adani made the rise of this treasonous snake possible. He has only grown because he got psu bank loans that were written off and given paramilitary support to grab natural resources illegally. They would be given capital punishment for high treason by sc in any other country

Bro's profit grown 969% in just last 5 years. Bro's contribution to Viksit Bharat employment figures - about 45k people globally. For comparison, Reliance employs about 4 lakh people, TCS, about 6 lakh. So how exactly are you contributing? By taking over the country's resources?

Adani ke bhadwe ki aulaad Medha Patkar never claimed water would never reach Kutch but warned of massive displacement of over 200000 people mostly tribals and environmental harm from the dam which led to stronger rehabilitation policies after Supreme Court reviews. The project faced delays from multiple governments and courts not just activists while Gujarat invested heavily in canals under various leaders delivering water to arid regions alongside persistent gaps in promised benefits for all affected families. Crediting one politician ignores the decades long engineering collaboration across states and the role of protests in exposing flaws that ultimately shaped a better though imperfect outcome for irrigation and drinking water supply.

Remember how foreign-funded 5-star activists like Medha Patkar tried their level best to deprive the Kutch region of Narmada water, until Modi called their bluff. Today, the same dam irrigates 3 states & provides drinking water to millions of Indians

@SupriyaShrinate I disagree with you. Ai is a huge bubble on its way towards bursting and data centers will deplete our ground water which we are already short on due to extensive deforestation by bjp. India needs sustainability more than data centers.

Noted economist Ruchir Sharma says 👇 • The entire world today has a monomaniacal focus on AI. • It’s all about which countries will be the winners and losers in AI. • Unfortunately for India, in contrast to what happened during the tech boom of the 1990s and 2000s, foreign investors have concluded that India is a loser in the AI space. • The world is obsessed with building infrastructure for AI, something India sorely lacks. • Countries like South Korea and Taiwan are doing far better, while India is nowhere close. This is the stark reality. Hype and photo-ops won’t suffice. India, which became the flagbearer of the IT and telecom revolution thanks to visionary leadership at the time, cannot afford to let the AI revolution pass us by. But sadly, that is exactly what is happening - and the world is not going to wait.
