Getting confused by all these claims and counter-claims about who really invented most of the deep learning techniques, I asked ChatGPT to show me the light. It presented a balanced summary of the situation, and told me about Juergen's Turing award..

I have helped run an AI-based entrepreneurship program for years, written papers on the econ of AI, and follow the field quite closely. Nonetheless, I am *shocked* by how good OpenAI's new chat (chat.openai.com/chat) is. E.g., you can no longer give take-home exams/homework.

Bought an item from @amazon which has not shipped and seems in limbo. Item has since increased in price. @AmazonHelp customer service refuses to (1) ship a replacement item, or (2) refund me the current price so I can re-order without losing money. Very poor form.
