Eden Gardens hasn't hosted Australia since 2001. Wankhede hasn't hosted Australia since 2004. And it will be at least 2031 until the might be able to. It's an absolute joke how we treat our iconic Test venues.

@ps_it_is I didn't thought it were the case. If so then you have a point. But at the same time, RCB men and women combined most likely have more eyeballs then those four RR teams. All in all, a great deal for the current franchise owners and Indian sports in general.

Lot of people surprised it’s not a bigger valuation for RCB in comparison to RR, missing the point. The RR purchase is of four franchises (RR, Paarl, Barbados Men and Women) whereas RCB sale includes just the IPL and WPL team and has gone for 0.15 B more than RR with 4 teams.

I am not very good at valuation..
But I still think, RCB in WPL surely holds bigger value than other RR teams...
Surely RCB men and Women combined have bigger brand value than RR whole franchise...

@bestcricstories It is definitely the better opportunity which is why it has been valued at more price despite 4 teams RR have part of the deal, I agree with you.

Not sure I buy this explanation. More teams means more ops too. RCB have proven a business model and fanbase that can deliver better financial results without trophies, franchises, and (relatively) minimal ops.
Seems the better opportunity to me.

As per Brand Finance data Rajasthan Royals is the lowest valuable brand in the IPL as of 2025 and they have been just sold for for 1.63 billion $.. The least valuable brand..

#RajasthanRoyals US-based entrepreneur Kal Somani-led consortium has bought 100% of Rajasthan Royals at US$1.63 billion. He is joined by the Rob Walton (Walmart) and the Hamp (Ford) families in the consortium. Ownership will come into effect post the 2026 edition of the IPL.

Problem is that a lot of people don’t enjoy sports or the athletes. They’re watching to start or win arguments against a bunch of other losers. That’s why everything has to be extreme. Everyone’s overrated. They can’t even discuss players they like without putting another down.
