HECTIC scenes at the airport this morning: a staff member yelling at a spiralling customer “You’re missing your flight NOW”, another passenger trying to board before realising they’d arrived at the right TIME but the wrong DAY, absolutely UNSPEAKABLE toilets, flying is BACK baby.

So in a town in QLD, I just spoke to a woman working at a cafe in tears as she’s been abused by many people today for not allowing entry without a vax cert. I heard the last one she spoke to angrily say: “I can’t sit in a cafe to eat in this whole town!” Are you sympathetic?

@cycling_monkeys @Ballyurra Actually their job safety. If you spoke to any crew over last 12 months, you may find they are exhausted from enforcing mandates, getting passengers to comply. Remember you can’t be rude or defiant to police, ambos, supermarket employees. Kindness brings kindness.

@Ballyurra Their role is Customer Service. If they can’t bring themselves to provide that as their no 1 priority then they all need to GTFO! It doesn’t matter who you work for or how much you’re getting paid. “Service with a smile” and speak to your manager or boss however you like.

Flew with Qantas again for the first time in two and a half years. Was expecting that their staff be thankful to be back in the workforce again having had the experience of being being an unemployed mortal. Nah..as arrogant, intimidating and patronising as ever

What’s the common shaming term we give men who sleep around? What’s the negative terms we use to refer to such men as now having lost their value because they are not virginal? What’s the derogatory term we use for men who enjoy sex and embrace their sexuality? I don’t know any.

@MysticalWhisky @PhillipAdams_1 Many also are oblivious to the many employees that have had well jobs in a profitable organisation for many years. My job with Qantas has made my life and that of my family feel safe. The workers are very everyday people.

@PhillipAdams_1 Qantas and indeed Aust are lucky for his service. Was, is and will continue to be one of the world’s great airlines. If you disagree then you haven’t tried most other airlines in the world. You are just a small man, bitter for no longer having access to the Club

You did one sector they spend a day at work with these unmasked people. No power to insist it’s a mandate not a law. Exemptions exist.

Hey @VirginAustralia just landed in SYD after sitting next to a maskless guy the whole flight. I offered him a spare but he challenged me 'what was I going to do about it'. We sat thru' 3 mask announcement. How does this not get noticed by onboard staff? Matt
