@ReganReyzja 100% I’m really hoping for something cool. I really like the Fleet, Frost, Torrent, Sirens, etc colors. I don’t want PWHL SJ to reuse sharks colors though, they should start their own path. Sirens and Torrent already have similar enough teal colors. I really hope it’s fun!

What are these colour schemes? Detroit the clear expansion winner in every way

@FowleBall15 With the cap going up as well as contracts I need to readjust my mental model here on these dollar amounts

@MCL_71 This was my first thought immediately! Hopefully it’s something fresh and not just similar to North Bay or even an off green version of the London Knights

@MasterHaderach @TopDownHockey McKenna has some gaps that need to be figured out more and is coming from a weaker league. It might be more likely that if McKenna is a star he’ll be much more of one vs Stenberg.

@MasterHaderach @TopDownHockey It’s not saying how much more of a star McKenna will be over Stenberg, it’s how likely they are to hit the threshold the model considers a star. Stenberg already playing pro in a good league with his size is less risk to translate game play into the NHL.

The PWHL officially expands to Hamilton and Las Vegas. Hamilton will play at TD Coliseum, while Las Vegas will be at T-Mobile Arena.

@leviiscold Makes sense from the outside too— generate in-arena revenue and strong attendance first before you can justify larger TV contracts. Have to have the fans to grow the league first.

@leviiscold Hamilton just seems very odd in terms of TV deals for the league trying to grow and achieve stability (also financial stability). It makes sense in terms of gate revenue for the in-arena stuff. Interesting to see how it pans out.

So Detroit, San Jose, Vegas, and [checks notes] [frowns] [flips to next page] [frowns] [flips back] [shows page to person next to me] [they frown] [they run offstage] [we wait] [they come back] [they whisper in my ear] [I whisper back, visibly doubtful] [they shrug] and Hamilton

@markEmarkSJS @2MINIHULK I think him being next 6-8 years but us not being contenders until at LEAST 3 years from now only leaves like him on his decline curve when everyone else is getting to their prime. Our 1D needs to match the timeline of our core: Celebrini, Smith, Misa, Dickinson, etc

@markEmarkSJS @2MINIHULK IMO that’s too many things going right to count on reliably. I think the goal for the Sharks next year should be cusp of playoffs again at a minimum but still focused on developing the young core, winning, secondary scoring reliably after Celebrini, etc

@2MINIHULK I think the Sharks are “closer” than people think. If Asky can take a leap forward and the Sharks can bring in 2 good dmen, that along with our young players having another year of experience we could easily at least be a division contender next year.

What was different this year for Darren Raddysh that made his points basically double this year versus last year?

@TealCoug That’s why I feel like the Sharks will go for a D in the draft. The ages will line up ideally and avoid future core problems.

@TealCoug IMO the Sharks would want their 1D trade target to be aligned with the age range of Celebrini, Smith, and Misa at least. They don’t want to have finding 1D problems once those players are in the peak performing years. He’s a great candidate, but probably a little older than ideal

How does it compare to a team in a league where each team has its owner and completely separate structure (WNBA, NWSL, NHL, etc)?

@IanKennedyCK What’s the structure of a PWHL team? As a newer fan, I know there is a single central ownership. Are all teams run by that same group or is there some leader running each team that’s has full range to hire/fire/etc whatever staff they see fit?
